Kiely: Albion will be quids in

kiely22.jpgAlbion keeper Dean Kiely has hailed Tony Mowbray as the perfect man to spend the millions of pounds of Premier League cash that looks set to flood into The Hawthorns.

Promotion to the top flight could be worth up to £60m for the Baggies, leaving Mowbray with a multi-million pound war chest to boost his squad.

And Kiely believes Mowbray is the ideal manager to use the cash shrewdly in the summer transfer market.

“I think in main the squad is well-equipped but if we do get promoted there will be a kitty available,” said Kiely.

“I don’t think there is any other manager I would rather give a fund too than ours. Tony Mowbray doesn’t just get taken in by big names or egos.

“He does his homework and brings the right sort of players in and I think we would all be safe in the knowledge that the players that came in would be the right sort.

“They wouldn’t just be fantastic players but fantastic people as well and you have to have that in.”

The Baggies will be promoted on Saturday if Hull fail to beat Crystal Palace and Mowbray’s men will be guaranteed promotion if they avoid defeat at home to Southampton next Monday.

And Kiely has paid tribute to Mowbray’s bravery in sticking to his footballing principles .

“Over the years managers I have played for will tell you that they want to be really expansive,” said Kiely.

“But when there is a scent of anything going wrong they will say to launch.

“In fairness to our gaffer, he has his principles and the way he wants to play football and that will not change.”

TM built a squad capable of playing great football, scoring over 100 goals and with a great team spirit - all for about 12 million.

With the prem money PLUS the Curtis Davies money I can’t wait to see what he does next…although I stand by my views that we already have the basis of a decent premiership squad - we just need more depth, particularly at the back.

We need a couple of defenders, possibly another keeper and maybe a forward - so I see a few young players coming in for reasonable money from overseas - and maybe the odd player from the prem.

However we will also be sending a lot of players out on loan too.

Exciting times - just need that one last point !

  3. Happy_baggie said:

Oh - and i also think a few of ToMos ex Hibs players like Brown will be coming down too.

Another bitter Dingle - enjoy watching the playoffs (you’ll have to pick a team as your’s won’t even be in it). Enjoy your relegation battle next season.

Will spend millions next season then will lose millions at the end of the season

Albion will concede the same amount of goals that theyhave scored this season

    Simple at that

If Mr Peace has a spare 50million next season then you might have a chance but i can see you tescos coming down next season

  6. Happy_baggie said:

Robbo - how do we lose millions at the end of the season ? Even if a club is relegated they don’t have to give the money back you know….
We get £30 million for promotion then if we wre to get relegated, 2 more years of parachute payments - and that is worst case senario.

Most true football fans think we have the right manager to actually stay up, and even flourish - but thats a foreign concept to you no doubt.

As for the rest of your dingle nonsense - the only thing simple in your post is you pal.

The pain and bitterness being shown by the knuckle draggers is really making me laugh - i just wish michael and LCW ect were brave / stupid enough to try and be clever on here now…. where are ya boys ???

    1. Hey Dingle lad. Deano may be too old, but your collection of misfits, has breens and jokers failed to score against him this season.

Where does that leave you lot?

KIELY has kept 17 clean sheets in a team that has scored 100 goals on par with the wolves goaie and whats there goal total.ALLWAYS LOOKING DOWN AT THE DINGLES.

The right manager my ar*e. All he’s done is sign good players, played them in their best positions, scored loads of goals whilst playing fast, open exciting football, guide his team to the league title, given sensible and insightful interviews to the media, and places little or no value to putting a shift in. What a loser.

  13. Cantello said:

Bitter twisted Dingle comments are always good fun to read and your childish, blinkered attitude is just one of the reasons we enjoy beating you so much - and so often.

If we come down, so be it. Not even worried. Yo yo ain’t so bad. Trips out to Old Trafford etc one season, tussling at the top of the Championship the next. Sure beats mediocrity!

  14. Romsley Baggie said:

Happy_Baggie, If/When we are promoted we need to be realistic about our prospects next season. If we are to have any chance of survival we need to bring in a completely new back 5. Midfield we need a central midfielder to challenge Koren/Greening and another proven striker. By my reconing we need at least 7 players. The premiership is a totally different kettle of fish to the Championship and if we are to establish ourselves there must be no room for sentiment. I do think Brown would be a player TM would try to get also O’Connor from the blues.

    Boing Boing

How long after tonights loss do you think MM will be there ? Wonder who’ll take his place ???
I see Dickie Dosh has left Walsall,

    5. a little bitter are we?

no way we will concead a 100 goals…dont worry about us, you need to worry about who your losing in the summer, SEB, Hennesay, and kites….all to bigger and better clubs, like Hull or Bristol City, dont worry about us mate, we’ll be ok….just worry about what your going to do, with half a squad and a naff manager…..maybe survive, maybe play Bristol Rovers and maybe Walsall…good luck for next year lads……….your going to need it

  23. Baggiesince54 said:

I do question whether this seasons transfer funds were altogether wisely spent. We signed 17 players including some on loan of which perhaps 7 could be said to have been successes.Still question marks over whether Beattie, Martis, Tininho, Slusarski and Cesar were good signings and the jury could still be out on Pele,Moore,Kim and McDonald whilst Danek has yet to appear.£60m is a lot of money and the transfer fund will need to be very well spent in the Prem.

  25. shatpankwolves said:

got to give it to mowbray, other than say mcdonald, that polish striker not even going to attempt to spell his name lol, and beattie (weird all strikers) then he has hit gold in the transfer market.
cant fault him and for how much i hate the albion, got to admire the way you play and the players within that squad (other than kiely sorry he aint prem class)

  28. malvernbaggie said:

Totally agree 23 we need to spend big “when” we go up. Need support for Greening and certainly need some stregthening to the back as well as a striker if we are to cut in in the prem. As long as we continue to play quality football who cares, god bless TM!!!!

  29. gold&black said:

two games to go and you still think you are promoted you wish

  30. Cyril Randle said:

You’re all at it again, the Wulfies telling us we’ll ship shed-loads of goals IN THE PREM, our lot spending the dosh IN THE PREM before we’ve got it. WE STILL NEED ONE MORE POINT!! Cockiness is not a nice trait so please wait until it is certain. You’re just making me very nervous. PS: If Dicky Dosh goes to Wolves they’ll do well next year.

  31. Danish Baggies said:

gold&black. Wery good winn for The Dingles last night, but irony will that this result will help us get promoted still having 2 games in hand. Cos Crystal Palace now desperately needs a result against Hull. Thanks a lot my Dingles friends.

Fully agree with Danish Baggie - Palace need to go after Hull - thanks to the Wolves.

Hope Wolves get promoted as a replacement for the Blues. Midlands football needs top division sides.

I agree with Cyril, we are not quite there yet,
    however, the inescapable fact is…………
the female vocalist with the generously proportioned physique is waiting for the musical intro with microphone at the ready.

1,yow lot cudent get past him boing boing

  39. yorkshire baggie said:

Good luck to Beattie at Preston - nice to see him back fit. When I’ve seen him he has looked a quality forward, always looking to get in off the shoulder of the last defender. Intellegent with some pace.
With a longer run in the team - who knows what he might have done? He has just been unfortunate that we have had three other strikers who are probably in the top five or six for the whole division. I could see him doing a job in the premiership, especially if Superkev goes.

  40. Bewdley Wolf said:

No 36. Er, I don’t think you quite got my point! Of course I’m jealous but I’m not bitter. Quite the opposite in fact, I’m pleased for you lot and hope you stick it up some of the so called big clubs in the premier league. I certainly think you’ve got the right manager for the job, I just hope your board backs him fully to strengthen where you need it, not like we did to Dave Jones.

  41. pete pandaal said:

All this banter is fab to behold; lets stay pragmatic, like TM. I hope hull beat palace, then we have to stand up and be counted like men for the last time. We MUST win the division and bring some silverware in for the sublime class football we have played this year. I am going to officially complain to the bbc if they dont give us ample coverage, outside of the alleged big4. They are discriminating against the midlands, ironic as it is, and gullible linekar should know better. Football is the tick of the nation, and we are humming warmly at the heroics of this wonder season. THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER—and they will.!!
