Ashley Young said he would be happy to sit down to discuss a new contract after he destroyed Birmingham.
The £8m winger scored twice and set up two more in the 5-1 thrashing of arch rivals Birmingham.
Young has more than two years left on his current deal but boss Martin O’Neill said last week he wants to reward his star performers such as Young and Gareth Barry.
The pair have the same length on their contracts, while he also wants to reward Gabriel Agbonlahor, who only signed a new four year deal last year.
“I don’t need to sign a new deal,” said Young. “I’m just looking forward to the rest of the season and if the manager wants to give me a new deal, fine.
“I’m just concentrating on things on the field.
“It’s a massive club and we said even last season that the club was evolving and we’re looking forward to getting ourselves back up the table.
“We’re doing really well on the field and hopefully come the end of the season we will finish fifth.” Villa go into Sunday’s clash against Everton knowing victory will put them above the Toffees on goal difference.
And Young insists the only UEFA Cup place is within Villa’s grasp.“We always felt we could finish in a European spot – we said that from the start of the season,” said the winger.
“We never said we were out of it and we’ll take it all the way to the last game of the season.
“We’re not thinking about holidays – we’re just thinking about the work on the field. It’s important to concentrate on the rest of the games and not think about anything else and that’s what the boys are doing.
“It’s in our hands and we’re looking forward to the next three games to get three points in every one.
“Wherever you are in the table, you’re always looking over your shoulder.
“Everton is going to be a tough game because there’s no team you play where you don’t think it’s going to be a tough game.
“We’re looking to next week’s game and getting three points again.”
Villa have now scored 15 goals in three games and Young thanked boss Martin O’Neill for giving him the free role which he has flourished in in the victories against Bolton, Derby and Birmingham. “I just enjoy getting on the ball and I would like to thank the manager for giving me that role,” he said.
“I’m enjoying playing in that free role, popping up on the left, right or behind the front two. As long as I’m in the team, that’s all that matters and yesterday was a brilliant performance from the whole team, not just me – there were 11 men out there who did the job.”
Young also praised the impact of the sell-out crowd, who provided an electric atmosphere.
“The fans were the 12th man – from the time we went out to warm up they were loud and singing and they sung all the way to full-time,” said.
“They were brilliant and we did the job on the field so we were delighted.”
Olof Mellberg celebrated with a fist-clenched salute in front of the Holte when he was taken off and admitted he ‘wanted to play forever’.
“I felt like I wanted to play forever – I looked at the clock but I wanted the game to keep going,” he said.
“When you’re winning so well, that’s what it felt like.”
