i wont be on much this morning as ive got to go down the town to get me a new road atlas blummin amazin aint it just got to know me way around the grounds and we get promoted, boing boing have baggie will travel
I hear West Brom on on the brink of capturing a move to the Premier League
What a transfer coup eh!!!
TerrysigningonBaggie, dont spend all you jobseekers allowance on that road atlas, you’ll have no money left for your away ticket.
Terry, invest in a Sat Nav like the rest of the country. At least being a wolves fan I won’t have to!
Anyone who watched Gera celebrate with the fans on saturday know he is going to be in a baggies shirt next season. We still have Dorrens to come in from Scotland, so maybe a centre back is all we need ?
However knowing ToMo we will sign another 5 strikers and put them all out on loan to learn their trade.
One thing I’m sure about - we will only sign good footballers, and probably no one over 25/26.
We still need that 1 point to be sure, but I can taste promotion now - and it tastes very sweet.
Still -you get no where in this league playing pretty football…..
i think they should scrap the play offs,if you aint good enough to finish in the top 2 you should stay in the championship, boing boing going up automatic
5. Happy
It isn’t the pretty football that has got you out of this league it’s your goals!
Philips is a class above anything in this league and I also think he is a class above the rest of your team!
I am not saying that the rest of the squad is not good but you could tell from the Pompy match that he runs the team. Everything was coming from him in the first half. The trouble is you can’t afford for him to play so deep because you won’t hurt teams in the premiership like that!
Also, Mowbray is clearly a very astute manager and I would be interested to know the person that was smart enough to realize it and go and get him!
I think you will stay up easily with Mowbray in charge. It must be such a good feeling to trust in the manager!
ive got my atlas but dident need it really cuz, chelsea, manchester, newcastle, arsenal, liverpool, aint to far from the places we been this season, infact while your on the way to barnsley we might see you, boing boing up n down the moterway
6. TERRYSTILLTOPBAGGIE
Is that a sensible footballing comment Terry?
Or was it just a snipe at the Wolves?
I agree, but it should be the top three not just the top two!
Terry - I agree, in fact they should just scrap the championship - the premier league is what football is about.
Can you imagine supporting a club that wasn’t in the premier league ?
Ugh.
Abdon - thanks for the nice words…. however whilst I agree that KP has been superb this season, we now have 5 players in double figures for goals…. we are far from a one man team.
KP makes other players play better - but thats what a senior pro with his skill and experience should do. I think our “young guns” will learn a lot from him, but I don’t think we are reliant.
Regards the pretty football - that just goes hand in hand with the goals. Its hard to score 100+ goals playing Megson football - our pretty free flowing stuff is what got us the goals.
But as i say - many tahnks for the praise, I know it aint easy to say, but it is appreciated.
p.s - my comment 10 WAS a joke…. honest !
10,baggie, your right mate i just couldent imagine it,what is the point of the championship,im glad we dont play in it,boing boing
Funny how Albion fans forget what Megson did for the club.”The following season, he took the club into the playoffs, winning the Manager of the Month award for November 2000 along the way.[1] In the 2001–02 season the club won promotion to the FA Premier League, overcoming the eleven-point lead of bitter local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the closing weeks of the campaign. This achievement earned Megson the Nationwide Division One Manager of the Year award.[2] However, the club was barely prepared for the financial challenges of life in the top flight and a bitter quarrel soon developed between Megson and the club’s chairman Paul Thompson over the latter’s perceived interference in footballing matters.”
9 abdon, what do you think it was me old pal, boing boing

As you can clearly see Megson was at his managerial best at Albion judging by his win percentages.
Wolverines - who has forgotten what megson did for us ? Certainly not me.
He took this club from the bottom of the league to the playoffs in a year and to the premier league the following year. And yes - he deservedly won manager of the year.
His place in our history is there forever - and rightly so.
However, Meggo took the players he had and made them hard to beat. The year we went up Russel Hoult kept 27 clean sheets…. a record for us. On Nil to the albion was our battle cry !!
All I’m saying is that we would not have scored 100+ goals playing that way - which we have now done 2 seasons on the trot.
There are many reasons why we were relegated that 1st season including financial restraints, but we never played the type of football that keeps you in the prem either.
Please don’t confuse my admiration for ToMo with a disrespect for Gary Megson.
Sorry HB guess i’m just feeling slightly sore this morning. Megson did wonders for you lot and I misread what you meant in your earlier post. Congrats on your impending championship.
It doesn’t matter what style of football you play, it’s how well you play it that matters!
Like the people that say Allardyce will be like McCarthy. It’s rubbish. Because a team under the former will have better players able to do the job better than the latter.
I personally think that Good quality long ball football can be just as entertaining as pretty ball, which can be tedious at times too!
I just like winners, however they do it!
No prob - and many thanks.
16 wilfines, if i was you id get out more mate, boing boing
Personally I think Big Sam spends too much time talking to his wife on his bluetooth headset. But that’s just an observation!
14. Wolverines
Nobody is forgetting or dismissing what Gary Megson did for us - he will always be a legend with us. But he is the past, history.
Megson along with Paul Thompson started the revolution that even survived two seasons of Bryan Robson. He laid the foundation that Tony Mowbray is now building so successfully on.
Thompson was inspirational in appointing Megson and i, like most Baggies fans at the time shouted ‘Gary who???’ Now we all know what GM did for us.
Its awfully quiet on the Bluenose site.
Are they going down? Hope not as I was looking forward to a trip to St Andy’s
It would sadly seem that those who inhabit The Dark Side are destined to wander in the wilderness that is Wolverhampton.
I know we have a reputation for being susceptible to set pieces but did’nt they fall for a sucker punch , like us no one on the post’s.
Still hope we seal it at the Hawthorn’s on Monday night what a party that’s going to be.
wolves and albion fans if you go to orange, home, sport, championship, they have amazing stats, wolves have the most clean sheets so with a striker they should join us and the baggies have more points than this time last year amazing!! now this one point i hope stoke draw and hull lose so that we get promotion and the cup at home any body want to sell 2 qpr tickets!!!LOVIN IT ps terry(promoted) has a nice ring as does very happy baggie soooooo happy!!!!
The one thing that has annoyed me this season is people saying our goals against tally meant we were a leaky side.
There were weeks when we would win 5-1 and wolves draw 0-0 - and yet because our goals against tally went up we were somehow poor.
Week after week wolves fans were posting about their great goals against tally, whilst having a goal difference of +1 - I could never understand it.
The goals difference column is the indication of our team, and +32 goals shows that we have earned the right to be top of the league.
There is more than one way to skin a cat - and the ToMo way has been a joy to watch
14.
no chance any baggies fan has forgetton what Super megson did for us, he was the first manager that gave us some belief, and got us to the promised land…
he had however taken us as far as he could with his ability, but he will go down in memory as 1 of the best managers we’ve had…in my opinion anways!
BOING BOING TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE!
14. Albion fans didn’t forget what megson did.. I heard megson had a chat with god a few days ago..
GOD: “Gary, what are your beliefs?”
GOD2 AKA Gary Megson: “I believe you’re sitting in my chair!”
See where i’m coming from??!! ha.
Promotion great, and even better WW going no where
MM to stay with them
Just great.
TERRYNOTPROMOTEDYET as for the top two teams going up and not through the play offs is that because you lost out to derby or just a spiteful comment aimed at us WOLVES FOREVER supporters either way enjoy your season can,t wait for this time next year we will be like ships passing through
maybe poor old blues can keep the local derbies going for next season in the championship
Happy Baggie thinks they will only need a Centre Back for next season?! Did I read that right? I’d love it if you did only sign 1 - You’d be down early April.
30,WALKER,we will be passing alright,on the moterway, you going to preston we going to old trafford boing boing passing on the m6
put all rivalries aside now and to say well done to our neighbours and good luck in the prem you are better than about 6 or 7 of the teams in the prem but dont write us off just yet the fat lady might be garggling away but shes not on the stage just yet
WOLF dont worry about us id pay more attention to the impending sales in your club shop AKA board room, ground staff, managerial, coaching and players. You will have NOONE next year especially with your *stars*? leaving
nearly there baggies!
This summers blockbuster books
MOWBRAY…WHAT A MANAGER
MICK…MERLIN’S GUIDE ON HOW TO WRECK A CLUB WHILST THE DIMWITS STILL PRAISE YOU
letsnot forget not being a FOOTBALL FAN is about enduring the highs and lows of emotions that NON football fans would never under stand,so why dont all you moaning wolves fans go and support your speedway team instead or just fadeaway like early morning mist on a summers day
Let’s concentrate on getting the point we need and then assess the Transfers we need when we have arrived. I saw Clem out in Solihull today and thanked him for returning. He’s been the best returning player to the Hawthorns since Super Bob. He has steadied the back 4 and also his experience probably has helped Barnett and Hoefkins.
I hope Bolton stay up and play us next year. Gary Megson will get a tremendous welcome at the Hawthorns. His part in recent Albion history may have been turbulent at times but he took us from League 1 trap door to the big time for the first time in 20 years. It is as a result of his successes that we have been able to invest in the East Stand and the Academy and are a club that now has one of the best set ups in the land. On top of that we secured two promotions and that 11 point overhaul of the Wolves is the stuff of Legend.
I honestly think Palace will get something from Hull on Saturday not because I’m an optimistic baggie but because Palace are playing well at the moment and Hull have had the jitters. Also Wolves don’t give up Watford are looking out on their feet.
Looking forward to Monday night…
13.you will after next season.
