Cameron Jerome has apologised to Blues fans for an “embarrassing” display in yesterday’s 5-1 Second City derby defeat.
The former Cardiff striker admitted Blues were completely out-fought by their neighbours and feels they have let themselves and their supporters down.
Jerome said: “It is embarrassing for everybody associated with the club. Obviously the lads are very disappointed – it’s embarrassing to lose that way.
“We have let ourselves and the fans down. We came here full of confidence, but started sloppily and they played us off the park. We know how terrible the performance was. Villa looked like they wanted it more than us and we have to hold our hands up.”

Every time I say Villa 5 Blues 1, it makes me smile.
Jerome should go back to the championship where he and the rest of his poor excuse for a team should be playing.
“Not as hungry as Villa”; “they wanted it more than us”; “outfought”?? Why? If the team can’t get hungry enough for a derby and when we desperately need points, when can they? They haven’t got the bottle for the fight. Put 11 of the fans who had to witness that against Liverpool; at least they’d fight and be up for it. We are down (again), end of story.

You were never gonna stay up because your style of play (if you can call it a style) depended more on the other guy making mistakes rather than by you being creative.
There is still a chance we will replace you in the premiership but if not, then I look forward to your visit to Molineux.
