Albion summer signing Graham Dorrans has landed the player of the year award in the Scottish First Division.
The Livingston winger, who will move to The Hawthorns in the summer after a deal was agreed in January, has effectively been named as the top player outside the SPL in Scotland.
And the Scotland under-21 international has now spoken of his excitement at the transfer and set his sights on figuring for the Baggies in the Premier League.
“I have signed a pre-contract with West Brom and we will see what happens in pre-season,” Dorrans said.
“I will try and establish myself in the first team, but I just have to wait and see what happens.
“One more win and they are in the Premier League and if I can get into a team that’s in the Premier League it will be magnificent for me.
“I am looking forward to it and also a wee bit nervous.
“They are a massive club and I just have to try and establish myself and take it from there.”
Dorrans has scored 20 goals in 72 starts for Livingston, who are managed by Mark Proctor – a close friend of Baggies manager Tony Mowbray.
The Baggies made the decision to snap up the services of the talented youngster after he impressed during a trial.

Both Tony Mowbray and Mick McCarthy are slagged off on these pages by respective opposistion fans.So at a time when the fortunes of our national team have been entrusted to an ageing Italian, with suspicously dark hair for a man of his years, I would like to offer my support and best wishes to all the younger home grown managers. Especially to TM of course for his bold and adventurous style of play. To all of us who watched a Robson team at home with Kevin Campbell playing alone up front it has been a breath of fresh air to say the least. Megsons teams too, and you can’t knock his promotions, were not fun to watch. And at the end of the day football is supposed to be fun, let’s not forget that.
Can’t wait for him to come. I can’t believe how many strikers we have, it’s fantastic! Tony only needs to get a few defenders and midfield players and we will be set to take on the Premiership boys.
I’m sure the premiership is shaking, what’s his name again?
I know nothing of this lad, but as ever, i look forward with excitement. If and i say IF we make the greed league we will still need to buy a proven Premiership goal getter. I know we have Phillips, but he is getting on, Miller will be good in a couple of years (a lot to learn), Bednar, unproven at that level, and possibly Moore, jury still out, although he has scored goals at that level. The difference in the Prem between the teams that stay up and the ones who go down is being able to score goals, but having said all that, i trust Mobs to do the business.
no.3 Thats precisely why you`ve got so many problems. You constantly sign players we`ve all heard of but are no good because they`ve done the rounds and been rejected by all other clubs e.g Kyle, ward, keough, breen, craddock, gray etc..etc..
This lad has just been voted the best in his divison and he joins the Mowbray revoloution of youth, tecnical ability, pace and hunger.
Now run along and finish off your `you`ve let us down again` banner, nearly time to get it out again x
All the Wolves fans do is mock everything related. They are all gutted arent they? They have been in the Prem once and made a complete hash of it!!! Spend 30 million to get there and whe nyou eventually make it make no money available to spend???!!!!???? Very funny.
Stick in the Chumpionship where its safe and you can stay mid table and get 20,000 + each home game. I think the Wolves board is only interested in this. S.E.B will be gone in the summer and you will have to start playing Freddie Eastwood. Who are the Wolves gonna sign closed season???? Who will want to go there????? Not exactly a major attraction or offer to a player is it? “Wanna play mid table hoof ball?” and wear a gold top??
Or do you want to play sweeping, passing electric football in the prem and wear blue and white??? mmmmmmmmm
no. 5, Classic
Thought Terry”XXX”Baggie would have been a little more present today, makes my day the MOWBURY way does Tel
3. Wolveswolves, Had you ever heard of Kightly? Clutching at straws old pal. If we know TM he will be quick, very attacking and be great value for money. Green eyed monster me thinks. Never mind Darren Huckerby is out of contract at Norwich he’s 32 next birthday, Dion Dublin is also out of contract he’s only 39 MM will be in for him at centre half!, Young and Hungry don’t make me laugh!!!
Boing Boing
Bye Bye!!!!
3 Don’t you wish you could sign a few whats his name players like KOREN ,MILLAR,BEDNAR BARNET AND DANEK just to name five .Oh what you would give to have any of these.Never mind stick with Freddie he will take you places like Preston, Plymouth, and Swansea. Championship again. Boing Boing.
I´d never heard of Gera, Koren, or Bednar, until they had signed for us. Tell you what though, I´m quite pleased that they did sign for us now. I´d sooner have a hungry, talented no-name player, than a washed up, so-called `big name´ mercenary, any day.
I’ve just realised - not only have we got all our “on pitch” activities to celebrate… we’ve also got £10 million coming from the villa for Curtis Davies….
It’s like bloody christmas these days.
3…number says it all. You have picked up Kightly from relative nowhere but thats it!!!
The premiership may not be shaking but lets face 95% of the wolves players dont exactly make the Championship shake do they!!!!
To wolveswolves (3.) Well one things for sure, the Premiership are not losing any sleep over facing Wolves next season. Are Wolves shaking at the thought of playing SEB in a QPR shirt ? (don’t worry, he’s not as good as you think he is)
13 - SEB won’t be at QPR - those hoops will make him look even fatter…. he needs vertical stripes. (and no, we don’t want him).
I agree with most of your comments, however Lee Naylor was a world beater last year and we all Know how average he is? Right age just hope he gets the chance!

Firstly I have no come on here to slag off albion but come on, you rant on about Wolves making a complete hash of their stint in the premiership. I would hardly say that Albion made a success of it. After all, you have had more than one chance at it. Before you slag off Wolves’ under achievement, please put your brain in gear first and get off your podium, that is if you have not fallen off already.
5. Don’t forget the “Thick McCarthy Out!!” banners as well.
Last summer, when Wolves supporters were laughing at the Baggies because of the “rats leaving the sinking ship” they also thought it was hilarious that we were buying unknown players. They were going to run away with the Championship, with all their “star” players, Merlin the Magician and new sugar-daddy Morgan and we were going to be fighting relegation.
Look at 3. They’ll just never learn!
No.3 - I think the dingles will going up next season…Up to Carlisle if I’m not mistaken!
16. Albion, unlike Wolves, have not been fortunate enough to have rich benefactors with an open cheque book. So their achievements over the last 6 six years completely over-shadow Wolves.
16- Stourbridge
Perhaps we didn’t achieve all we could in our last season there, but those 3 seasons have formed the basis for what we’re achieving now and hopefully will in the future. We had no sugar daddy, all our money has been self-made, and establishing yourself in the Premiership is nigh on impossible to achieve in one season. Yo-yo’ing is almost inevitable.
Wolves have made a hash out of trying to get back up there. Sacking the only manager that managed it and placing unreasonable expectations on a group of players whose average age is barely in the 20’s.
If the shoe was on the other foot, your fans would be exactly the same!!
16 - the fact that we had three years is the whole point.
We used our 1st years parachute payment to get automatic promotion, and then managed, just to have 2 consecutive years there.
so yes, given the huge investments made at wolves over the years I think you have underacieved, and that albion, having only parachute money to use did well to get three years in the premier league - and get promoted there twice automatically.
Sorry pal, but its really hard for a wolves fan to win an argument with us these days.
no 5/no 8 Excellent !!!!…..they really are so sad the dingles brigade coming on here and slagging Tony Mowbrays signings..!!….just so jealous of the Albion its untrue !!!…and thats a fact born from every comment they submit on here..!!….we will be in the prem next season, we are a bigger and better club than you, lets just say that a miracle occurs and you scrape into the play offs and then make the prem…..how many of your current squad are good enough for playing at that level…?….non of ems the answer….and you talk about us doing a Derby…..I say go get a life…better still……convert…..go on convert to Baggies fans…..you know you wanna……we wont tell anybody…honest…hahahahaaaaa…….bye bye……see you again sometime in the near future…(me thinks not !!!..)
I think we will make a better effort of the Premier League this time as I dont think Mowbray will be scared of the opposition as Robson was.
With regard to Wolves Premier League season I actually think they would have stayed up if the had had Murray & Lescott fit.

I have not just come on to slag off the Wolves. I personally would like to see Wolves in the Prem next year as the 6 points would really help us to safety. Also you make no sense. ” Firstly I have no come on here to slag off albion but come on”!!!! I admit Albions first 2 Prem exploits were not fantastic but we have been there twice. Also hopefully this time we will win the championship league. And the last 2 times we went up were automatic promotion. You went up after beating a Sheff Utd team in the play offs that had a terrible day at the office. Its all about style and flair and thats what we have. Wolves just have a load of cloggers and hoofers.
Perhaps you could have Super Kev when we have finished with him.
Going up the automatic champions way.
Oh yes.
P.S Michael Gray lives near me.
16. No one needs to use Wolves ‘hash’ of a Premiership campaign to take the Mick out of Wolves (no pun intended), the under achievement in the Championship year after year is funny enough!
he aint here yet and hes winning awards,he must be some player, cant wait to see him flying down the wing, boing boing in the box son
7 telford, youv been on the rung pages mate, boing boing going up the MOWBURY WAY
I as one am very unimpressed that it has took us two years to get back into the premiership but then again im happy we are going up as champions rather than play offs because it sounds more official.good luck to wolves next season as i like to see all midlands clubs do well.
thankyou
At least one dingle will be in the premier next season….SEB, when you have to sell him to make up for the lack of season ticket sales. A long hard slog against relegation for you next year methinks.
Dorrens looks like another jem mowbray has fished out of the Scots league more fire power to cement ow er place in the premier league next season
Do wolves fans forget that we stayed up and achieved something no club has done in premiership history?
Lads, you are fighting a losing battle. You had the upper hand against the albion for 10 or more years. You had Bully(a massive mistake by our board) and a chairman that would throw money at the club.
The fact is you underachieved. If we still had robson and you had mm I would say that you had the upper hand. The fact is we have had a chairman who was initially looking out for his own interests and has now seen the light and is backing who I believe is the best young manager in the game.We have quality in depth and play magnificent football and even if we go up then back down we will dominate the league the following year and go back up again.
You on the other hand will struggle to get into the playoffs, and getting a new manager will only make things worse.
Be gracious. You arent in the same league as us at the moment and it is there for all to see.I mean look at the record of the sides over the past 7 meetings. If i were you i would be very, VERY quiet indeed.
21 Warren (Albion.)
Come on please mate. ‘Wolves would be exactly the same.’ They’d be ten times worse. One of the other advantages of being a baggie. Modesty. Before anyone else says it, yes for many years we’ve had plenty to be modest about but whatever the outcome this season, I couldn’t be more proud of our club.
PS. On the subject of this lad. I have to admit I’d forgotten all about him. It’s like a late Christmas present.
Wolves fans, if you want to come on here commenting on an Albion article then please use your brains and think. If you’re going to have a go at the Baggies, then you’re not going to win any arguments are you? Doh!! Unless you want to comment on how well we’ve done under the limted resources over these past 6~7 years then please feel free. If you want to comment on the free flowing football, the countless goals, the skilfull players, the fantastic manager, a chairman with a plan, and the very likely promotion then please feel free. Otherwise, why don’t you just toddle off and help put your club in order.
As has been pointed out many times by many Baggies fans, you’re club GROSSLY underachieved when you had the money, which was GIVEN to you and which was WASTED.
Wolves are now in the shadows and apart from the sensible Wolves folk of which I grant there are many, I don’t give a damn.
stourbridge wolf
we’re not on our podium yet but we’re about to climb all the way to number 1.
not so hard for a club like you, number 9 podium is less sought after
24. Wombourne Baggie, never a truer word spoken.
Good luck in the Prem, I hope this lad makes it.
Do not underestimate him as who had heard of Kites before he joined us.
why do dingle fans come on here to slag off new signings?? ALL of mowbray`s signings over the past 18 months have played some part, most if not all were unknowns but are now are regarded as the best players outside the prem(NOT FOR LONG),how many of mad mick`s signings are looked at in the prem???/maybe 2 and that`s were they will be playing next season BUT NOT WITH WOLVES.
we have a managerin tm that is not just intrested in existing in the prem he wants us to prosper.
Thats why this time seems diffrent ,because if promoted we know we can stay there .

Great post, you said everything that needs to be said.
All Wolves fans are obsessed with the Albion.
Mick isn’t a BAD manager, just rather dour and defensive. He doesn’t excite. That’s what makes the Wulfies a bit tetchy with us, we’ve got thrills, spills and goals galore. But I’ve dozed through many a Meggo Match and Robson Robotics. The football philosophies of Sir Tea-Cup Ferguson, Arsene Whinger and Kevin Keegan have arrived at The Hawthorns via a thoughtful, articulate man in Mowbray, backed by Poker-playing, Cool Hand Luke Peace. FOUR points needed to ice the cake. Put away the tin trumpets until we’ve got them!!
