Money won’t give up hope

Richard MoneyWalsall manager Richard Money is refusing to give up on the League One play-offs and is gunning for three wins out of the last three games in a bid to get there.

The midweek home defeat to Bristol Rovers makes tomorrow’s clash with crisis club Bournemouth a must-win and Money remains optimistic Saddlers can gatecrash the top six.

“We’ve still got a chance of getting into the play-offs with three games to go,” Money said.

“They are games that we can win and that’s what we’ll be trying to do.

“We need to win all three if we’re going to get into the play-offs, there’s absolutely no doubt about that.

“We might win all three and that still might not be enough, but there’s no pressure on us,” added the manager.

Walsall’s fate could still hinge upon the outcome of the Leeds United tribunal, the result of which is now not expected until the early part of next week due to the sheer volume of evidence being presented.

But Money is concentrating purely on matters at hand.

“There’s nothing I can do to control the Leeds situation so until we’re told otherwise we’ll still harbour beliefs that we can get in there,” Money said.

“No matter what happens to Leeds, we’ve got to try and win the last three games because it’s important that you finish the season with a good feel.

“I think for this football club to be one place behind Leeds is an incredible feat, especially considering what’s happened to us this year.”

Pray tell Richard how are we going to win 3 games when we don’t shoot or trouble the keeper? Are we hoping for some own goals? Or are we relying on the opposition having 5 men sent off and thus forfitting the game?
