‘Tis a bitter pill you Sorry Staffordians had to swallow last night. I see that you have clearly not brushed and gargled this morning as the after-taste is still causing you to spout envious nonsense.

Whatever next season brings, the pleasures experienced by Baggy fans this season are being savoured. Now go back and finish your ablutions. And remember to use the wash basin for gargling, not the W.C.

Wolves fans lets put things into context, albion are still recieving parachute money they were in the premier league longer than us so they have had more resoureces over the past 5 seasons, due to this there squad is bigger and has better quality, beacause of that we are playing catch up! As much as I hate saying it they are a better side than us at present. Well done to them last night. Lets face it they should have had this league rapped up weeks ago.

Lets pick ourselves up and get ready for Ipswich on sat if we are to make the play offs we need to get behind the team, it still in our own hands.

Come on lads you can do it.

Baggies have to go up, someone needs to replace Derby. Other 19 teams need someone to prop up the Prem. Even Birmigham and Villa are too good for Tescos

Don’t worry Steptoes you can still make the playoffs the McCarthy way. He seems quite upbeat and thought the team gave every effort. He would make a good spin doctor in the government. When all around you is in chaos, keep your head !
Kiely has the bragging rights for a few seasons now unless we meet in the cup. Picture 13 shows the spirit.
Boing all the way to the premiership THE MOWBRAY WAY. We love Mr Porkpie.

Baggies were better in every position, every player was proud to be wearing the Stripes and it showed. There aint two better player outside the prem than Jesus Greening and Super Kev. For all the dingles huff and puff we were at least 3 goals better. They give us a better game in the play offs last season and are clearly going backwards—- the Macarthy way. PS, Strong rumour that Hennessey is coming to the Hawthorns if we go up.

Baggies fans are just jealous that they don’t have Neill Collins!!!

  22. Greg Cooper said:

Okay, so it’s over, done and dusted - we lost to the better side, simple as that. Although a win over them lot down the road would have been great, we all know that the Ipswich and Cardiff matches are much more important as they not only affect us but the teams around us. I think that on Saturday, MM needs to think about replacing Collins as last night he did not give the performance required for such a game. It may be sensible for McCarthy to throw Gary Breen into the fray alongside Jody - he may just provide the additional experience and composure that we need. I would also put Kites on the bench - I feel it would give us an extra boost to know he was waiting in the wings (so to speak!). We all talked about a minimum of 4 points from the last 2 games - well now the simple fact is that we MUST take 6 points from our next two. Anything less and it’s goodnight Vienna…

May I also congratulate the Albion for a good performance and a good win - it pains me to say it but you deserve to go up this season. I can only hope that we can put another run together that will see us join you up there!!!

  23. Fenwolf said:

We didn’t just lose we were outplayed on our own patch again by our bitterist rivals. Make no mistake West Brom were the better side and deserved the win but what about our game plan and tatics for the night? On Saturday Watford closed down the Albion midfield quickly and made it difficult for them to play - we gave their midfield the freedom of Molineux last night. And what about their weekness at defending set pieces - we had a string of corners and the delivery from most of them was rubbish. The manager, coach and players need to have a long hard look in the mirror this morning because we made it far too easy for them at times!

  24. rs10-3 said:

    21. Michelle or Joan Collins would be a better bet.

I just want to endorse what Unclefathand stated about Mick McCarthy. Yes, he did indeed make those comments on Radio WM, as anyone who tuned in on their way to work ths morning will have heard for themselves.

I accept that Mick’s playing things down for whatever reasons, but quite honestly, I don’t want to hear such insipid, passionless talk.

Mick, permit me the great privilege of educating your good self as to precisely what ‘The Black Country Derby’ means to the proud citizens of the great City of Wolverhampton:

JUST THE MENTION OF ALBI*N RAISES THE HACKLES. GOT IT???

BEATING THEM IS ALMOST MORE IMPORTANT THAN LIFE OR DEATH, BUT, IF IT AINT, BOY, IT COMES PRETTY F*CKING CLOSE! GOT IT??

THERE MAY ONLY EVER BE 3PTS OR A CUP TIE IN THE NEXT ROUND OF A COMPETITION AT STAKE, BUT 99% OF WOLVES FANS CAN’T SEE PAST BEATING THEIR DESPISED NEIGHBOURS. GOT IT???

Yeah, “only” football it may be…but this fixture dates back to the beginning of time. It’s historic; it’s meaningful; it’s passionate. It’s more than “just a game”….this is tribal warfare at a very deep level, Mick.

If you can’t grasp the depth of feeling here; if you can’t understand the very individual nature of Black Country communities, bog off back to Barnsley! I want a boss who’s seriously offended at being beaten on their own patch by those Tesco muppets, irrespective of whether they’re a clearly superior side or not.

Oh, and if YOU think Wolves were WBA’s equals, well, you’re an even bigger muppet than I previously thought.

Wake your ideas up, you clueless plank

So we lost to the better team last night. Albion have the parachute payments to rely on and can therefore purchase better quality players at the moment. But deep down they know they are a poor man’s wolves. Always have been, always will be.

Unless Wolves get over the “50’s” and all that..they’ll never move forward…Its about putting things in perspective and thats what Albion did long ago and it shows in the expressive way we play football..You get the feeling each Wolves players is playing with “Billy Wright’s ghost” on their back…

  37. wba2307 said:

It’s interesting to see the comments about WBA and the parachute payments, let us not forget that WBA have not had the benefit of a rich benefactor pumping money into the club over the last 20 years, WW have.

Let us not forget that after the exodus of WBA “best players” at the end of last
season a period of “transition” was muted by many, we were not amongst the hot favourites for promotion.

Where are Hull in the table, how much have they spent?

What about Bristol City, cannot see many big signings in their squad!

Derby got to the premiership last season of the back of loan signings!

Look at your goal difference +1, look at your goals scored, Colchester are relegated and they have 11 more at this stage of the season, that’s why your eighth not third, how many strikers have you got ? KP has scored more in the league than you’re best three combined how much did WBA pay for him!

It’s not just about the money; it’s what you do with it, WW from the board through to the coaching staff are guilty of not making the best of their resources, simple as that and you guys have to take a good look at yourselves and your antics, just look at your stats, 11th best home record, 4th best away, does this not tell you something?

You have to get over your “big club” mentality, you were once amongst the leading lights of English football, but that was 50 years ago, get realistic you have no divine right to play at the top level, no more than WBA, no more than anyone in the Championship.

I for one as life tiem Albion fan wish the Wolved well and hope they make it throught the playoffs - and lets not forget we are NOT promoted yet and may end up meeting them in the playoffs!!. He who luaghs last etc. Beware of premature celebrations.
