Today’s transfer rumours - April 16

goal.jpgAll the latest transfer gossip on Wolves, Albion, Villa, Walsall and Blues.

VILLA

IN: Villa continue to be linked to a host of players. Deep breath, today’s list is:

Martin O’Neill is continuing his Tottenham-like snaring of any decent young English talent by planning a raid on, er, Tottenham. O’Neill apparently wants Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is tracking several Fiorentina players, including young Argentinian midfielder, Mario Santana, plus Italian strikers Riccardo Montolivo and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Benfica right back Nelson says he hopes that Aston Villa will follow through with the interest they have reportedly shown in him.

Sheffield United have slapped an £8 million price-tag on centre-forward James Beattie. Beattie, signed for £4m from Everton, has attracted interest from top-flight clubs, including Villa it is claimed, after scoring 21 goals for the Blades. Sunderland and Reading are also keen to lure him away.

OUT:
O’Neill is coy over whether he will offer new terms to veteran attacker Patrik Berger.

WOLVES
OUT?: Striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake is set to be a summer transfer target for Everton and Queens Park Rangers.

ELSEWHERE

All quiet at the rest of the West Midlands clubs.

You need to get in the prem, wont be a problem then.

I am honestly hoping you make it so we can have the derby in the Prem next year for the whole world to see.

As for the Baggies lets take three points of Norwich, and then guarantee promotion at the last game at the Hawthorns a week Monday!!

Can’t wait for the Sandwell Sados in the Premier.
Derby’s dismal record will go again next year. That’s a fact. Oh well back to the Championship THE MOWBURY WAY. BOING BOING.

  22. NathanWolves said:

Certain players didn’t turn up, Elikobi, Gibson, Collins all had stinkers! Jarvis did OK, Grey was my man of the match but MM bought him off? Eastwood should be sold, he is a lazy useless waste of time and effort who really doesn’t want to play for wolves or MM!!!?!
We had the better first half and should have scored, albion had the better second half. Craddock was unlucky when phillips got away but Elikobi cost us the goal by not marking Gera.

Very dissapointed with the result, will be difficult to make the playoffs now!

I was listening to the phone in’s on WM on the way back from the game, some wolves fans said they were envious, i certainly am not envious and never will be of albion. I am wolves through and through and always will be!

  23. shatpankwolves said:

if i were you id would put the premier league badges on your shirt with velcro, so they can easily be removed then when you come back down!!
just trying to save you money thats all

  24. Dangleadingle said:

So sad 21 we aint up yet and you have us down. I’ll let you into a little secret. Supporting a successful club is a marvellous feeling. But you’ll never know will you, thats unless you go and watch us or Walsall.

  25. wolvesmod said:

Let’s hope Moyes was watching our defence, he can take the lot of them.

And i’m sure albion will do a lot better than Derby…

  26. SuperMaths said:

Why would the Toffees want E’fires-Blanks???!!

Watching him last night, he’s a fully paid up member of the “Cows Ar$e and Banjo” brigade!!

    Boing Boing!!

Hope Hull and Bristol go up - it’ll make surviving that much easier!!! ;)

  27. Finchy - Wolves!!!! said:

NathanWolves - how will it be difficult to make the playoffs??? game in hand 3 points behind palace next 2 games away at watford and away at hull!!! gray worked hard but hes told old cant beat a man!!! eastwood did ok we he come on!!! be positive just lacked that bit of class last night!!! dave edwards, kighlty and eastwood all to start saturday lets go for it!!! come on wolves!!!

  31. Southbank S5 said:

Like I said yesterday, if we dominated in midfield we would get a result.

Unfortunately we were outclassed with greening gera and koren dominating the midfield.

Gutted…but life goes on. Looking forward to Saturday…..lets hope we can get a result against the tractor boys.

  32. terrywearetopbaggie said:

31,southbank, you where outclassed in every department, fans included boing boing we outclass everybody

  33. NathanWolves said:

27 Finchy - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Why does Eastwood warrent a starting place, i can accept your other points but not the Eastwood one, he should be shipped out, the sooner the better. He is did nothing, wasn’t interested and can you tell me where he was supposed to be playing because I haven’t got a clue!!

  34. NathanWolves said:

and Terrance 32 - we forgot your fans were their until you scored, very quiet! Just like the poorthorns earlier in the season!

  35. Larry Talbot said:

Hey, all of a sudden ‘living in the past’ looks really good! Throw the mobile in the bin and set the controls for 1959. So long guys.

  36. pickle_project said:

poor management cost us this season. in fact, for the last 15, 20 seasons (bar DJ taking us up in style!!)

stop slaggin off the lads who pull on the old gold. you’re doing 10 times more damage to the club than any bitter Tesco Boggy.

(… not that i’m bitter West Brom fans… ’s just banter between the supporters eh? got respect for how you’ve done it, just wish it was us, not you! obvious really…)

  37. wolves81 said:

  40. Loyal-Cannock-Wolf said:

    WHERE ARE ALL THE ALBION?

THERES NORMALLY A FEW MORE IDIOTS ABOUT ON HERE SPOUTING OFF THEIR BOING BOING RUBBISH,

OH THATS RIGHT PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY WENT KNOWS WE GIFTED YOU THEM POINTS, AND HOW MUCH DID TONY PAY BATTENBURG TO GIVE EVERYTHING YOUR WAY?

  41. Southbank S5 said:

Oh, and it certainly didn’t help playing 4-2-4 in the second half.

  42. daz m (a.v.f.c) said:

all this makes me laugh albion fans will be going on aboutt this result till the start of the new season. not bothered who comes up if its wba or wolves its easy 6 points for the villa but got the main local derby sunday come on villa

  43. brummie rob wolves said:

Terryyouhademptyseatsinthestevebullbaggie you were the better team last night but are in major need of players if you go up.
I reckon Stoke for Champions as they will beat Bristol, Colchester and Leicester.
Albion will find it hard at QPR - definitely - and Norwich or Southampton are scrapping for points. Albion 2nd and then we should be in the play offs against Hull!

  44. The Real Bully said:

    23 Shatpank.
Thanks for the tip and well remembered from your single season there.
    42.
Let’s hope normal service is resumed and the Blues get their normal easy three points, even if it does ruin your chance of Europe (Intertoto Cup LOL.)

  45. Happy_baggie said:

Hee hee - the only thing funnier than reading the pre-match bluster of the wolves fans is reading their post match boo-hooing.

LCW pretending he was there - so you gifted us the points - thanks very much… as we say in tescos “every little helps”.

43 - I think we still get into the premier league with 2nd - but none of our remaining opponents have anything left to play for - the last relegation plave is between Leicester and barnsley and Sheff Wed - not that they are easy games, but Stoke have to play a promo rival and a relegation candidate.

Irrelevent really, but your logic was just wrong (again).

Still, you still have those fantastic attendances to be proud of….. hee hee.

  46. Happy_baggie said:

Did anyone see Luke Steele’s performance last night for barnsley against Hull ?

He was awful - he gifted them all three goals. He was jumping over the ball - one went through him and then he failed to come for a catch.

He raised his game in the cup, but after watching him last night it’s no wonder TM has moved him on.

Never doubt the football genius that is TM.

  47. beevower said:

had to laugh at Steele’s effort for the 2nd goal……he dived on top of himself after the ball had already hit the back of the net!

  48. BillWolf said:

    Jog on QPR! and Everton!

  49. brummie rob wolves said:

    45) Can’t add up. I think that you will find Southampton and Norwich can go down and QPR are a decent team. I was not having a dig as I said you will probably just about pip Hull for the 2nd spot. Bristol are in free-fall and would have lost to us if they had given a definite penalty. So it’s Stoke for me as champions!

  50. baggieken said:

    45. cant see why you’re really giving your predictions out….we aint interested mate. We had you lot spouting what the prediction of this game was gonna be and AGAIN !!….you all got it wrong mate…so we dont care about anybody else….its simple maths …we win three games and we’re up as champions….why have you suddenly taken an interest in Stoke..?..Oh, I see…given up on your own load of tripe !!!….fair play….I would too..!!..hahahaaaaaaa
