On a visit to friends in the U K we went to a local Pub “Hare&Hounds” at Shenstone Nr. Kidderminster, we went there on 4 occasions during a week. The food was fantastic, perfectly cooked vegetables, wonderful mouth-watering pastry on meat pies etc.Good steaks, beautiful Lamb, all very pleasently served, proper portions of food, clean.Wood fire in the fireplace. I cannot praise this pub enough, its quality and selection far outways some of the so called stared Resturants, oh and its sweets are superb. Cost for two people including wine , sweets and coff. approx £30.This is a must for anyone within striking distance. No big advertising signs, just looks like a normal pub.

If you are looking for a good greasy fry up, you have got to go to Jeans cafe on Bilston Road, Wolverhampton. It is your basic transport cafe with no frills but does one of the best Sausage and Egg sandwiches and offers great value. A night on the town with a good knees try Zorbas Dance Stafford Street, Wolverhampton. Very quiet on Tuesday to Thursday nights but if you like Greek Food, book up for a Friday or Saturday as there is a three course meal and live Greek entertainment into the early hours. Good value as the entertainment comes free.

Living in Wolves there are many curry houses to visit and as its one of my favorite meals i’ve visited lots, however, there is a restaurant in Cannock that has had me back many many times - GARAM MASALA. Its only been open approximately 18months and has already won a chef of the year award. The foods great and reasonably priced, plentiful portions and friendly staff. I suggest you book ahead, especially at weekends as i’ve often seen queues of people trying to get in without booking and having to wait quite long times for a table (and there are quite a few). You also need to take your own alcohol, although they do sell soft drinks - well worth a visit!

Visited for Sunday Lunch, Service was fantastic, food was pure quality.

All fresh produce from the farm next door and you can really tell. Good choice menu even on Sunday, when some places have a limited menu and for £13.95 for 3 courses I thought it was a bargain. You can also just have 1 or 2 courses though.

Quite a good wine list as well.
Lovely beer garden to relax in after the meal.

On a night out with friends last night we decided to give the Sharzia in Owen Street a try, as EASTERN SPICE in Owen Street was full. What a mistake that was!!

With only three other tables being used, after ordering our meals we waited nearly a hour-and-a-half for our food to arrive. After waiting so long we hoped that the food would be worth the wait - how wrong we were. What first struck me was the size of the curry. The Chicken Vindaloo was bland and the meat inside the curry didnt taste nice at all. A side order of a Chilli Naan and chips also disappointed. The chips were greasy, undercooked and very sub-standard. The Naan was particularly bland and had no flavour whatsoever, much like the Vindaloo that i order.

Mid-way through the meal a trip to the toilet was needed. On reflection i have to say that these were without doubt the worst toilets i have ever come across in a restaurant. One toilet was all that was available, which wasnt ideal considering a queue of three people were waiting. The toilets were blocked, dirty and were in a very poor general condition. In the end i was forced to go outside because of this. Thankfully, i only live just down the road, which was ideal as i needed to rush off home to use the toilet after the meal.

So far today i have been sick countless times and had countless trips to the toilet. Clearly something was wrong with the food as another member of our party who order Vindaloo were ill as a result.

I have heard countless rumours in regards to the Sharzia and health and safety, and i have to say it doesnt surprise me.

It was unfortunate we couldnt get into Eastern Spice and even more so that we ended up in Sharzia. I wouldnt recommend the restaurant, as to say the least my dining experience wasnt at all pleasant!!

Eventually our starters arrived, my wife had mushrooms & I choose the poached eggs & welsh rarebit, they were very good.

We both choose the lamb suet pudding for our main course. When it was served it was cold in the middle! We left immediately without paying, I was extremely annoyed.
