I cannot see far past a draw if I’m honest.. although a win would be most welcome, I think we will most likely cancel one another out. I’m going to go for a 1-1.

The difference now is that it is there for Wolves to win where a couple of months ago it was not expected. AND it is now there for Albion to lose where it ALSO not expected a couple of months ago.
    Whose nerves are jangling?

There is obviously a lot that hinges on this game for both teams, and of course both sets of supporters. Promotion for West Brom or play offs for both of us ! Saturdays games may help to decide both our seasons, so next tuesday is a must win for both of us. As long as the ref is decent and dosnt bottle any decisions and the idiots stay away, then we are in for one hell of a game. Im going to say an attacking 0 - 0 !! or a sneaky king kev goal…….up the baggies.

  8. TonyWBA said:

At this moment the Watford games is more important to us, lets get rid of Saturday and see how important the Derby game looks then

What a game, so much riding on it for both teams. Albion don’t seem to be the same team that was thumping teams earlier in the season and the Wolves are coming good at the right time. SEB up top will make a massive difference and Kites might even make a 20 minute cameo.
Wolves to win this one 2-0 and almost cement there playoff spot!

  10. SuperMaths said:

I hate to say it but I can see a high-scoring draw on the cards.
With King Kev loving playing the Dingles (has there been a game for any team he’s played for when he hasn’t scored against them?!) at one end of the pitch; and Sylvain E’fires-Blanks at the other we could easily see 3-3.

I don’t think either team can afford to lose with teh Dingles having 2 games in hand on those above them, and the Albion seemingly having no-one wanting to take top-spot away from them.

I’d be happy with a point - it’s a point closer to returning to the Promised Land.

    Going Up The Mowbray Way!

I would like to see (GK) Henneseey (RB) Foley (LB) Elokobi (CB) Craddock (CB) D Ward (LM) Jarvis (CM) Henry (CM) Olifinjana (RM) M Gray (CF) Keogh (CF) S-E-B.

Eeastwood and kightly to come on in the 60th minute for Keogh If were winning or henry if were drawing or loosing… and Gray..

    some genuine footy views.

This is our other, and one of two games in hand for Wolves,
and as far as games in hand go…….they dont get
    tougher than this.

Our games are normally tense affairs, and because of the implications, we can multiply tense by 10.

Wolves seem to have found some form AND a goalscorer, so come away honours even and i shall be happy.

Either or both are going to drop points and it could have a large bearing on were we both need to be, i have a bad feeling about the game and would probably take a draw.

To all fans who do not think this is an important fixture for both clubs clearly are not true fans of their clubs.

I would say that a derby game is the match most fans look forward to.

As for the Tesco fans saying this is our cup final, if thats the case then I can predict a Wolves win because Albion have a knack of losing big cup final games.

Last years play-off final, this years FA cup semi final ring any bells… Not a good record in the cup finals have they!

  24. RealistWolves said:

Recent past results leads me to feel that we could lose it. But with our recent form and the intensity of the game I would say a draw.

Always going to be a good atmosphere and I hope us fans can be the twelth man and give us the winning edge in the ding dong derby. I do fancy us to win this game but as long as we don’t loose to the Wembley rejects, I’ll be happy Wulf!

  28. tonimischi said:

Wait a minute…albion can do us a favour by stuffing Watford on sat we can do them a turn by beating Bristol, a draw on Tuesday can keep us both in contention. The future looks bright. As a wolves fan recognising the strength and depth albion have i hoping they go up automatically, becuase i genuinesly think they’ll be harder to beat in a two legged play off, shld they finish 3rd us 6th….with over 100 goals like it or night they deserve to go up…i don’t want them scoring more against us on their way to wembley.

  29. wolvowiggy89 said:

    wolves 5-0 boggies

  30. Bigbbob said:

This is Albions game in hand so effectively they can afford to lose it and so long as they match the other top 5’s results for the rest of the season they will still go up automatically. So for other than bragging rights it doesn’t make much difference. I think it is more likely to be a game that niether teams wants to lose rather than wanting to win, so i’m going for a 1-1 draw.

  31. Wolvensam said:

    1-0 to Wolves.

    Eastwood from the bench.

  32. Happy_baggie said:

Always hard to predict the derby games. If we were at home I would feel confident of a win, although the bore draw earlier this season was a suprise.

At the wolves I would settle for a point.

I think its a bigger game for the wolves as its a MUST win - lose it and it could be the end of your promotion hopes.

If we lose it, we MAY drop out the top 2, but would still be in a playoff position, although if we get 3 points against watford then the pressure is off for this game.

Given that wolves have found some form at last I’m going for a 2-2. Not the end of the world for either team.

I’m confident that the boys are up for the scrap for the rest of the season and top 2 looks very realistic now.

Wolves have to get 4 and maybe 6 points from bristol and us which is not guaranteed….

Squeaky bum time from now on….

We have the bit between our teeth, I am more intrested on our biggest game of the season so far on Saturday against Watford. Win that one and we are almost there. If we get 3 points Saturday I would happily take a point at the Custard Bowl. It will be a tense affair in a strange way I’m happier Wolves are at home because they seem better suited on the road as they have had a few indifferent results at home of late as we have. Can’t see us keeping a clean sheet if we are going to win we may need 3 goals but i could see it being 2-2.

    Up the baggies!!!!

  36. David Jones said:

3-1 to the baggies. We have been very determined of late! Wolves have a goalscorere and thebaggies have about 6 with a couple on the bench. Clement returning should help steady the back line. Our record of late may not be outstanding but we’ve only lost twice in about 9 games. One against Portsmouth and a farce against leicester. If!!! we win against Watford, we will be feeling pretty confident.

This may well be the derby to end all derbies!

  37. Tamworth Baggies said:

I fancy Albion to win and win well, i think that we shown in the week at Blackpool that we have character in our side and i see a very tense 1st half with neither team giving much away.

2nd half i think (and hope) that our quality will shine through and that the end result will be Dingles 0 West brom 2.

i really think that we will go up automatic and even though i am shocked to be saying this i hope that Wolves make the Play offs and come up so that we can meet again in the most fierce derby in this country but in the Premier League, and also it means that we are guarenteed 6 points next season!!!

    Baggies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another draw- cue more wild celebrations that will go on long into the night from thrilled Wolves supporters at having gained another point from their more glamorous neighbours.

On a serious note, I’d take a draw, it’s probably our toughest remaining game. As TonyWBA rightly points out, at this stage Watford is a bigger game.

A win Saturday, and we’re 5 points above them with them having 3 games left, that virtually ensures a higher finish. Hopefully Wolves will win Saturday as well. That will help us both and set up the derby nicely.

The Boggies match is just one of six cup finals we have up to the play offs (hopefully) and we have to focus on Saturday first.

With the defences that both teams have this could end up a 6-5 game.
Having said that with both teams having a lot riding on the game it could also end up with both sets of players cancelling each other out in which case I can see a draw looming.
A draw would probably suit us better than them, but I think the week end results will have a bearing on how the teams approach next Tuesday.
Heart says Baggies win, head says draw

  54. E & S Wolf said:

This certainly wont be easy for either team. Great for the neutral, unbareable for the supporter. a close 2 v 1 scrape for the Wanderers, SEB, Kyle and Gera with the goals.

  55. NewburyBaggie said:

I am not sure that that the argument about Wolves winning on current form stands up. In Wolves last 7 home leagues games they have Won 2 Drawn 3 & Lost 2. West Brom have Won 3 Drawn 2 Lost 2 in the last 7 away league games.

This game is going to be really close, but to be honest with you the actual importance of this game will not be decided till after Saturdays results all come in. Wins for both of us on Saturday would make a draw a good result for both teams on Tuesday.

Yes as a Baggies fan I want us to win and think that if we play at our best then we probably will. However there is no way I would underestimate Wolves and if both teams play at their best then it should be cracking gane.

well i’m going to make a genuine and honest comment (honestly).

for us wolves fans this season has finally come alive, and we have a brilliant opportunity to make the play offs (looked very unlikely a month or two ago) and the significance of this game is massive for both of us. west brom ARE THE BEST TEAM WE WILL FACE IN OUR REMAINING GAMES. this game will give us wolves fans a good idea of how much we’ve improved lately, and a good indication of our mettle in big game situations.

OF COURSE I HOPE THE WOLVES WIN..BUT A DRAW WOULDN’T BE A DISASTER. if it meant both sides in the premier next season i’d settle for that.

i’m going for a lie down now, that took some doing..talking positive about the albion!

Wolves have been playing decent stuff lately so i’ll go with a 10-0 win for Albion.

All these Dingles are going mad that they have won a few games thinking they can win the play-offs, its still the same manager that you wanted out a few months ago, and the squad is the same apart from they have an overweight player at left back and upfront.

Albion will win the league whatever the result against us I reckon, but 4 points from the next 2 games and we will make play offs, which will be an acievement considering how poor we have been most of the season.
Nice to see we have sold out and whatever happens we will always get bigger gates than Sandwell, as has been proved again this season we are a far bigger club than them and ALWAYS WILL BE.

Can’t argue with your logic. This regardless of the Saturday results is the big one for both clubs. Your one game in hand which could potentially cement your play off place. For us just a slight easement ‘IF’ we can win on Saturday then a draw would suit very well. we, on paper seem to have the easier run in and after Tuesday still have that game in hand. Winning it of course is what really matters! Just so long as the Ref is strong and fair.

maybe im biased i like the derby, ok during the match i am £$%£!$@ myself because its not just 3points (despite what managers may say) its local pride, bragging rights and especially this year a possible promotion place??
just want a fair, and entertaining derby if we lose, we lose but let it be a good match, and hopefully we can both make it a premiership Black Country Derby in the future, and then this fixture could get the exposure it in my eyes fully deserves!!!

Just what I like to see,the wulfs getting excited after a couple of good results, plus them being at home means the expectation is for ‘em to produce the goods. The worst thing you could do is give Albion a tough away game-that’s when they give their best performances.Bring it on!

See they do exist over there in birmingham.

I too, see this as a pretty tense affair. WBA have this season, the ability to go a goal or 2 down playing totally rubbish…and then turn it round and emerge comfortable winners. Done it so many times and it takes a very good side to be able to do that. We need to get ahead and then stay ahead, which is something we aren’t good at doing, mind you scoring first is a novelty for us in itself.

A loss for us won’t be the end of the world. If we win most of the other 5 games we can still get 6th. A draw perfectly acceptable, a win would obviously be pretty brilliant.
One thing that noone has touched on yet…..SEB is level with Phillips on the goalscoring tables…….and I reckon that SEB will really be busting a gut to get ahead. Phillips has that arrogant streak which says he has the divine right to win the best goalscorer for this league (remember last season and those provocative disgusting crowd gestures..boy do we owe him for that) BUT you KNOW SEB will be trying his might to do it himself. Put a fiver on SEB scoring a couple……whether that will be enough is another thing.
Oh and Phillips would be wise to keep his hand gestures and his gob shut at the moli though methinks….some of us haven’t forgotten. Inflammatory, inciteful and just plain rude gestures are the sign of an arrogance which this bloke has got which is distasteful, disrespectful, unimaginative and highly unintelligent and so totally needless but hey Mr Phillips..what goes around comes around…and our time has come round this Tuesday.

everyone’s talking about wolves getting into the playoffs which is great but if wolves can win their 2 games in hand(which would be tuff but we are capable) i think i’m right in saying we would only be 3 points off an automatic spot. the next 2 games are against 2nd and 1st( bristol and albion) if we can manage 2 wins i think some of those teams above will start to feel the heat of the mighty wolves on their tails.seems like no one seems to want to win it this year so lets just go all out these last 6 games now. i think its deffo possible.COME ON U WOLVES 1-0 WOLVES OLI

Hopefully no injuries or suspensions from Sat games and a full squad for both managers to choose from. Super Kev always gets one so he will tightly marked allowing our midfield maestroes and miller and Bednar to hopefully get a few. Never rule super Kev out tho. Tough one to call, a win each Saturday and i think we would all accept a draw on Tuesday.

A crucial match for both sides, so the referee has a tough job.

These two teams don’t have a history of giving referees grief, but their supporters are different. Immense pressure on the whistler.

It may be his decisions, good and bad, that decide what is likely to be close, nervous, tense game.

As long as we beat Bristol City a draw would be a good result. A tight nail baiting Wolves win would be better obviously. 1-1 or 2-1 to the Wolves (please!!). Nice to see a bit of mutual respect going on this board for a change. I think both supporters see each other as worthy adversaries. I do honestly hope that we both get promoted so we can continue our rivalry in the big time

  139. misterdj said:

I think the midfield battle is crucial and Henry and Oli have been inconsistent this season so a lot hinges on them and the level of their performance on the night. Albion have better firepower too, which is a worry. I hate KP - you just know he is going to score one, and I am hoping Miller is only on bench, his pace will cause the Wolves defenders problems. Sylvan, if you want to become a Molineux legend, a hat trick in the game might just do it. On paper, logic dictates an Albion win, but the reason we love football, with, a sometimes, blind faith, is that anything can and will happen. C’mon Wolves.

  140. Happy_baggie said:

  141. Dave said:

Albion will start as favourites. Wolves need to not give any soft goals from corners and set pieces. If we can do this we have a chance. Last year we didn’t have a proven goal scorer and they did, I’m hoping Ebanks Blake will do it for us. What worries me though is that this is one of the hardest fixtures in the Championship but could well be one of our easiest next year if we both get tothe Premiership!

I don’t know what KP did or said that got so many of yours going and I’m not trying to justify players making gestures but sometimes the abuse they have to put up with makes it understandable that occasionally they react. Sometimes it goes over decent boundaries as with Lee Carsley recently at the hands of those ‘wonderful’ Liverpool fans.
As I’ve said on another thread, I think we are in a good position to go up but looking at the table last night the Wolves should be nailed on for at the very least sixth place.
Hope we both go up. One in the eye for the London/NW obsessed media. Hope the Blues can stay up as well.

Not interested until Saturday’s game is done and dusted. One game at a time, please. Saturday’s results will have a strong bearing on who will win the next game. Defeat for either team will not stop the Baggies, the best team in the division, going up automatically and Wolves making the play-offs with all its wonderful drama. More twists and turns all the way. Out of darkness comethlight!

  148. Banky said:

The result is not important unless both teams loose on saturday. Then it is critical as neither team can drop 6 points in two games at this stage.4 points each from the two games would be nice for both clubs

  149. Dave S said:

If both teams win on Saturday, I think they would each be happy with a draw. If either loses it could be more open and could go either way depending on who takes their chances.
