Video journalist Wendy Lloyd is given a guided tour of Wolverhampton’s Civic Halls, which celebrates its 70th birthday next month.

James Blunt, Keane, The Killers and Radiohead are just some of the acts to play the venue recently.

Press officer Jonn Penney showed Wendy round as the venue prepared to host singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.

The likes of Morrissey and Marilyn Manson have all played the Civic.

The Express & Star will be publishing a series of special reports to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the opening.

Some of the greatest stars have graced the stage over seven decades.

The Civic is 70 years old on May 12 and bosses want fans to play their part in honouring the region’s stars as singers, musicians and artists on the wall being created at the North Street venue.

Wolverhampton Civic Hall is one of the best venues in the country. Great atmosphere, great sound and reasonable drinks. Corporate Academy types take note - this is how to put on a show. Here’s to another 70 years!

The Civic and the Wulfrun RULE. Having been to countless venues across the world these are in my Top 5. First gig ever was Gary Numan at the Civic in 83 on the Warriors tour; blew me away and I’ve been a gig junkie and Wolves civic fan since then.
