Walsall midfielder Darren Wrack believes the atmosphere at the Banks’s Stadium against Tranmere was one of the best in his 10 years at the club.
Richard Money was quick to praise the fans after the 2-1 victory over their play-off rivals and stated that the support was the best he has seen in his two-year spell in charge.
Wrack, who was watching the match from the stands after failing to recover from a calf injury, reckons it was the best he can remember since arriving in 1998.
“It was probably the best atmosphere from our fans for a long time,” Wrack said.”They were fully behind us from the off and they were singing all the way through the game, which really made a difference.”
“It could have gone the other way when we went 1-0 down early on and they could have got on our backs, but they didn’t and they got behind us, which is what you need as a player.
“It helped us through and helped us to the victory - they really were the 12th man for us, which proves how vital their support is.”
Walsall have three winnable looking home games left - against 16th placed Bristol Rovers, third from bottom Bournemouth and 13th placed Hartlepool - and Wrack is hoping for more of the same from the fans.
“It was great to hear and if they do that for the next three games that will be a massive plus for us,” he said.

and it will be as good if not better on Saturday!
Come on you Super Saddlers….
haha, you’re joking me?! There looked to be a group of about 20 people singing, that was it. you couldn’t hear them the other end of the ground.
Walsall must be a fun place to be if that’s as good as it gets!
Jase, this is just Wracky trying to lift the crowd for the next game. I have been to many games during the period since 1998 where the atmosphere has been better!
