Bully in a relegation rage

bullytraining2.jpgSteve Bull raged after seeing Stafford Rangers crash out of the Blue Square Premier with barely a whimper at Marston Road last night.

Their relegation was rubber-stamped by an embarrassing four-goal thrashing from York City in front of just over 400 Rangers fans, the club’s and the league’s lowest attendance of the season so far.

It left Rangers rock bottom of the table after Droylsden moved above them.

Bull took a swipe at the players. “The bottom line is these players were not good enough for this level. We played well for the first half and at half-time I just told them to go out and do the same again. They couldn’t do it.”Once the first goal went in, everything went out of them and their heads went down.

“I am not a miracle worker. I had a short space to time to do something. Perhaps if I had come in before Christmas it might have been different. You could have got Arsene Wenger or anybody down here and I don’t think they would have been able to turn it around in less than two months.”

    Question for the Sports Desk
    When Raich Carter played for Hull City, did he ever play at Molineux against Wolves ? Probably around 1948, if so, when and in which league or FA cup round ?
    An answer to this question would solve a an argument.
    Many thanks
    Bryn Williams

    As much as I’d like to see Bully manage us one day I think he needs to earn his spurs first. He had no chance this season with Stafford but we’ll see during the summer what kinda squad he puts together.

    now your just being stupid you cant judge him on how long hes been at stafford for hes been there 5 mins and lets face it everyone knew they where doomed as soon as he went there.
    and when you think about it hes won just as much as Tony Moany. in other words a big fat nothing.

    I tell you what, all this when he first got the job, everyone saying they’d be there to support him…….where have you been then?? Bully needed you and you let him down.

    I’ve been along 3 times and they’ve played some decent football, apparently an improvement since Bully came in, just a shame it was already a lost cause. Stafford are one of only 5 part time sides in the league, so were bound to struggle. Next year will be the real test for Bully. Let’s stick to our word and get along to give him some support.

    I think its rediculous that he keeps blaming the players we have some great players and a good squad if we could get a decent manager!

    Well, actually there are truth an un-truths in these comments:

    You certainly can’t judge a manager coming in to a struggling side at that stage, until he’s had a good run in the job from the start of the season;

    Those Wolves fans who sounded off like the cavalry at Bull’s appointment are nowhere to be seen, along with our fair weather support (Stafford’s);

    Stafford haven’t improved since Bull took over, they’ve actually worsened..and Bull needs to learn about motivation techniques - publicly slating players as ‘not good enough’ is poor, particularly as he himself is yet to prove his abilities (which we will fully support him in trying to do so, of course;)

    We have some very good players, but not enough to even make a strong starting 11 at this level - we certainly don’t have ‘great’ players or a ‘good squad’;

    All in all we need to look forward - Bull needs to accept that he is as much responsible for results as his players are; he also needs to be given the full backing of the board (resources)and so-called supporters (of Rangers and Bull as an individual)as well as the ever-presents thru thick n thin!
