Officers said they were worried about his safety because he was “vulnerable”.
Family and friends have been worried about the mental state of the celebrity since the death of lover Natasha Collins. Those concerns were increased by the ordeal of her inquest just six days ago.
He was reported missing after he did not arrive to meet Natasha’s mother Carmen in Covent Garden yesterday afternoon.
Mark, 42, who has been living at Mrs Collins’s home in London, vanished after phoning both her and his mother Jackie Speight at her home in Tettenhall Wood. Neither call is believed to have given cause for concern.
Mrs Collins reported him missing to police later in the day but his mother was not alerted to the drama until the early hours of today when she was woken by a visit from officers.
Mrs Speight declined to comment today but a friend said: “She is worried sick and is praying for a happy ending to this terrible saga. We all just hope to God that he is found safe and well.”
