Wolves hotshot Sylvan Ebanks-Blake admitted being named Powerade Player of the Month award for March was a surprise - as he was watching the news unfold on TV at the time.
The 22-year-old striker was actually watching the Big League Weekend show on Sky TV when the announcement was made.
“It was a shock - but a nice one,” admitted Ebanks-Blake, who hit six of his nine goals in 14 games for Wolves in March, including his ‘Cruyuff turn’ special at Charlton.
“It’s really pleasing to win a personal award like this but a lot of credit has to go to the team and how we have performed over the month. I’m really enjoying myself here at Wolves. I got off to a good start and the team have picked up and are kicking on.
“If we can win the next two games then we will have a massive chance of being in and around things at the end of the season.”
Boss Mick McCarthy added: “I’m delighted for Sylvan - we all are.
“He was up there in the scoring charts when he came here and he’s carried on and helped us to get back into the play-off frame.
“He’s scored some good goals but his second against Charlton the other week was outstanding.”

1. I repeat:
All it takes is faith.
We’re going up again, We’re going up again,
We’re going up up up again.
Magic Mick will do it.
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile!
Oh and I forgot. SEB for player of the year.
Bring on the Baggies.
did anyone hear that mowbray took his players onto the beach for some pre-match training yesterday but the owner of the donkey rides booted them off because he thought mowbray was trying to nick his trade!!
He will dry up now he has won that award. Super KP still ahead of him in the scoring charts.
Can’t wait till next Tuesday. I can see us bagging another 3 goals away from home.
Well done ! Now stay focused and do what you do in the next 6 games we can ask no more. The rest of the squad follow his examples including MM!
congratulations, you have your reward for the hard work you put in, keep it up and help some of the others lads to show what they have also.
big push till the end from all.
jamie lanyon holiday park cornwall (very sunny this am).
Kiss of death we hope,
we are top of the league say we are top..you know how it goes so sing along,
Boing Boing
Well done, he deserves it. Class player, i just hope he has an off day when we play you!!
10) Mate according to the sun you were battered early on by Blackpool. 3 goals in the last 9 minutes is not exactly going to put the fear of god up wolves - the way we are playing at the moment.
You will be top of the league for 24 hours and then 2 games that will make or break your season - Watford and us!
Its CRUYFF not Cruyuff, come on E&S get your spell check on!
Well done Ebanks, but that award was given for past performances we now need to kick on. To keep the momentum we need MINIMUM 3 points from next two games. I don’t fancy us to beat Sandwell, one of those mind says no, heart says yes. But Molineux is always a little bit special in the evenings I feel, walking under the subway after a few beers, the humm of Mr Tikka and the inevitable “Load of Bull new issue” and the floodlights, we need a big big game atmosphere.
There are some annoying songs in football including “Delilah” and “Keep Right on” but looking towards the away fans and seeing 3,000 boinging away has to hurt the most…..no scenes like that please.
I think we have to score at least two to get anything from the derby game - I fancy them to score at least once and probably twice. Lets face it our centre halves can’t cope with Phillips and Miller.
Well Done to you, you deserve it
Well done M8. The trick is to keep it up..
well at least youv summet this season,do you have to go to wembley to collect it,cuz if you do i know the way boing boing going up as champions
WELL DONE looks a good player.
22, more often than not we score 3 boing boing we are top of the league
20, Watford lost, HOW DUMB ARE YOU!
