Moore to take on key role for Baggies

moore.jpgTony Mowbray today told Luke Moore he has a vital role to play in Albion’s promotion challenge as the forgotten striker prepared to come in from the cold tonight.

The on-loan forward returns to contention at Blackpool this evening after missing the Baggies’ last four matches following his red card in his first start against Leicester.

And Mowbray reckons the England under-21 hitman could become a key figure in the final six games of the season.

“I’m glad to have as many players fit as we can because we are going to need them over the next month or so,” said Mowbray. “Luke is back in contention. He has been training for the last few weeks and let’s hope he has a goalscoring role to play in the next month.”From my perspective he has nothing to prove. I hope he can be a success for us, work hard and score goals. From his own perspective people would have to ask him what he feels

“I just hope he can contribute through a period in which we will definitely need him. Luke’s mood doesn’t generally change.

“He is very much the same day in, day out, so I haven’t noted anything about his mood.

“But I hope if he gets the opportunity to play then he comes alive and does what he is best at, which is scoring goals.”

Moore will be the only fresh figure in Mowbray’s squad tonight as Albion embark on their sixth match in 24 days.

And Mowbray has again claimed the heavy fixture schedule damages entertainment levels in the Championship.

But he has refused to offer the pile-up of matches as an excuse for any defeats in the final six matches of the season.

“We have just come out of a run of five games in 15 days and that is the nature of the league we’re playing in,” he said.

“We’re not the only team doing it so there will be no excuses. We just have to be ready for it.

“I think teams are asked to play too often and to expect teams to perform at the same level week in, week out is very difficult.

“But everybody else in our league is doing it so there are no complaints and we just have to get on with it.”

i can’t believe it, a few weeks away from the forums and i come back and we’ve fallen apart, all the baggies slating the guy just keep it hush, how is someone supposed to get off the mark when he is judged from the beginning, i’ll be totally honest, i looked at the first paragraph of this story and smiled to myself after realising we’d forgotten about Moore,

come on now lad, shove these words down their throats!!

    let southbank barmy army be

“our sorry band of no hopers”

he’s quite right only the out and out scum pond life could be doing worse, that would be truly pathetic, quite right

what with wolves top scorers in football, top of the league and having had a great cup run they can crow because they deserve it

no wait, they haven’t got any of those at all, none.

guess he thinks wolves are out and out scum pond life, bit harsh on wolves when he’s actually a fan of theirs, but its his scale not mine.

16/ I think the first slating in this topic came in the second post from…you got……….. it a W####s fan.

So we may have been lucky. Equally at other times we have been unlucky…as have Wolves or any other team. It balances out in May.

    16. I can only assume from your name that this is a joke.
You’ve come on an Albion site that’s full of snide comments from Wolves fans to accuse our fans of having nothing to do but slate Wolves fans.RSVP.
