When Padir Brewster’s long awaited return to football management came you knew that he would stamp his make on the club.
So all the critics who said it would take a near miracle to turn the club around are now eating their words as the periodical son return and now after back to back championships and a cup final.
Brewster said: “When I came here people told me that it was going to be a hard job as the players have no discipline couldn’t careless attitude and most of all some head strong correctors’ but that was never going to put Padir off his first love.”
He went on to say “I have played and managed other teams and would have broken every bone in my body for them but for the Ashmore I would die that’s how much this club means to me it’s the best the biggest and the best when Colin Cook signed me in 1983 I knew that some day I would have to stand in his shoes.
“You see once the Ashmore has touched you your hooked for life when I managed other teams it was an affair but with this club it’s a marriage.
“When my last girlfriend said I loved the Ashmore more then her I told her I loved the True Briton more then her so ended that relationship.”
Padir added: “We are all one big happy family I treat them all the same as if they were my own and that’s why we are so together we are all Ashmoreians at heart and long may it last.”
