The Cockney star, was due to take to the stage on Saturday night.

Scores of fans across the country had made plans to come to Walsall for the concert, which will now be rescheduled later in the year.

Event bosses confirmed today the gig had to be axed because a member of the star’s band was ill but said fans could claim a full refund.

A message on the venue’s website, posted on Saturday, said: “We regret to inform you that tonight’s Joe Brown Cabaret Show here at the Banks’s Stadium has had to be postponed due to illness to one of his band members.

“The show will be rearranged for a new date, yet to be confirmed, when tickets will still be valid. A full refund will be given should you require it.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
