Guiseley 1 Hednesford 1

pitmen.jpgRoss Dyer’s 17th goal of the season earned Hednesford Town a deserved point at play-off chasing Guiseley.

It took the hosts only nine minutes to go ahead thanks to a hotly-disputed penalty.

A long ball was played into the area and keeper Paul Evans challenged striker James Hanson.

To everyone’s amazement the referee awarded a penalty and Hanson picked himself up to send Evans the wrong way.

Minutes from time the Pitmen had a great opportunity to draw level but David Brown lifted his shot over the advancing keeper but also over the bar.

However, the equaliser Hednesford deserved came with just seven minutes left when leading goalscorer Dyer forced home Sheppard’s free-kick at the second attempt.

It stretched Hednesford’s unbeaten run to four.
