Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today revealed he’d love to see Denes Rosa secure a move to reward the player’s professionalism.
Rosa has been exiled in the reserves all season but has constantly caught the eye with his superb scoring record of 11 goals in 10 games from midfield.
McCarthy has played others in his position in the first team because he doesn’t believe the attacking Hungarian fits into his preferred 4-4-2 formation.
The 30-year-old recently returned from a hernia operation which kept him out for two months.
But he’s raring to go now and admitted this week he’s ready for another English club to take up the last year of his Molineux contract.
In the meantime, McCarthy wants the former Ferencvaros midfielder to impress the watching scouts in the reserves.
“He’s been a model professional. I’d love him to get fit in the reserves and for someone to see him, take him and then he’d get some football,” said the boss.
“He’s a lovely guy, a real professional and he deserves to play somewhere. That’s why every time he’s fit, he trains with the first team.
“When a new manager comes into a football club, I’ve seen players who have a sulk about the place, not train properly and not be right.
“But he’s maintained his professionalism and dignity. The Albion reserve game was only his second match back, but Denes just needs to play.
“Denes was available (to leave) before, nothing has changed.”
A signing by former Molineux boss Glenn Hoddle on New Year’s Day, 2006, Rosa made the last of his 12 senior appearances for Wolves in the Carling Cup defeat to Morecambe back in August and has scored twice in just six League starts.
McCarthy revealed he would still consider Rosa for senior action, and the player might be more suited to a more cautious system Wolves sometimes adopt away from home.
Meanwhile, Wolves are closing in on appointing a new Academy director to succeed long-serving Chris Evans.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “We’re making progress and should be able to make a better update next week.”

Sadly for Denes he didnt play for Sunderland and isnt Irish !! He should have had a fairer crack of the whip Mick !! Especially with some of the shocking midfield displays earlier in the season.
another example of no man management skills, MM OUT!
Comment 1 + Comment 2 = Thick Dingles
Rosa is painfully average and is not in the same class as Olly & Edwards and even Henry & Potter.
Reserve football quality is real poor so it does not matter if you score a bag full of goals.
3. Not in the same class as POTTER!?. Have you seen Rosa play? If you have your memory must be pretty bad. He was A LOT better than potter when he was in our first team couple of years back
well said 3….those two know nothing…
comment 1 and 2 if MM dropped oli or edwards too play rosa then that would be bad management his not in the same class has either of them!!
but for play to rosa for working hard and staying professional!
As much as I liked Rosa, he was looking good under Hoodles era, when any player with a hint of spirit & desire would catch our eye!
Comment 2, you idiot.
Micky has got us into the playoffs and whatever he chooses is a good idea if it gets us tres puntos.
but in fairness to Rosa, hes smashing them in for the reserves, shouldn’t he get a place on the bench atleast?
MM should unload the rubbish first..POTTER, ELLIOT.WARD and give ROSA a chance, but as stated he is not Irish or ex Sunderland.
i think mm will have to do a u turn on this player soon . everyone knows how good he is . potter could nt lace his boots . unlucky for tescos today . they did outplay pompey . i for one hope we can both go up and continue our harsh rivallry in a premier league that desperately lacks the sort of character that our derby will bring to the party
Dont get this….. if the preferred formation at wolves is 4-4-2 MM has adopted a more 4-5-1 away from home,,,, so how come he hasnt figured in that formation. Secondly if he is playing in the reserves and banging in the goals, I believe through my sources that the formation played in the reseves is…..
wait for it….
….
4-4-2
Need me to carry on!
Give him a go ! we have had to put up with Ward !
Comments 1 and 2 are perfect examples of the thick YAMYAMs that ruin our support. They have ugly wives and ugly kids and stare at their half empty glasses of vimto reminiscing about their holiday at Butlins and how it pee’d down on the first day.
However - I would give Denes a run on the bench - he does after all score goals
12, Ward don’t forget his his “managerial find” enough said.
Another example of why Mick shouldn’t be allowed to step within 50 Miles of Wolverhampton.
THIS GUY DESERVES A TRY IN THE FIRST TEAM. HIS EFFORT AND GOALS HAVE BEEN WELCOMED BY WOLVES FANS, TRY HIM OUT.
JAMIE LANYON HOLIDAY PARK CORNWALL.
Where on earth would Rosa play in the future? Would he be better than Kightly, D Edwards, Oli, Davies, Gobern, Gray, Jarvis, Henry, Gleeson? No? That would make him at least ninth choice next season. Does he have a future? Come on, and be realistic.
1. Let’s look at our current starting 11, and see how many Irish ex Sunderland players we have.
Hennessey. Welsh, not ex Sunderland.
Foley. Irish, but no Sunderland experience.
Elokobi. Nigerian. non Sunderland.
Craddock. English. Ex Sunderland, but not under Mick.
Collins. English. Ex Sunderland.
Gray. English ex Sunderland.
Henry. English non Sunderland.
Olifinjana. Nigerian non Sunderland.
Jarvis. English non Sunderland.
Ebanks Blake. English non Sunderland.
Keogh. Irish, but non Sunderland.
That is two Irish players. That is three with Sunderland experience, but only two with Mick. Players with both? Nil. Don’t let petty childish beliefs stop you though, even though facts don’t back you. Of the Irish players, would you drop any of them? I wouldn’t. Of the Sunderland crew, maybe Collins isn’t up to it yet.
Who would you drop from our midfield to facilitate Rosa’s inclusion? I wouldn’t change any, or any more from our bench. My suspicion is that neither would you if you are honest.
Muppetout. You know nothing about football. All I have ever seen from you is to call for MM to be sacked. He has played professional football and represented his country, taken sides to the Prem, took an international team to a World Cup quarter-final. What are your football qualifications again? OH!! There’s a shock!! NOTHING!!!!

Kightly - Injured 2/3 of the season
Edwards 0 Injured only just arrived
Oil - Been poor this season - only JUST starting to show what he can do.
Davies = ?????? Not seen hime for over a year !!
Goben = See Davies
Gray - Fair play but struggles for 90 min ( Where Rosa comes into fray )
Jarvis missed 1/3 season and the struggles to get 90 mins ( See Gray )
Henry = Pooooooor player this season
Gleeson = ?????? On loan to get a game
Ward = LMAO never a better player than Rosa..
So Rosa does deserve a chance and has been a Model pro - Give him a go Mick or you scared that he could become a play that fits into 442 or your 451…
So no he is NOT 9th choice and Rosa only missed 2 months
Should have been given a go - especially when you see some of the crap players (ward, potter etc…) who have been given over 15 games to prove how bad they are!
Morleywolf, please note the words “…IN THE FUTURE….” That is the important thing. I am aware of the past, but who would you play him instead of in the players I mentioned? Henry is a defensive midfielder, and had a spell of poor performances. Over the last couple of games he has started to look the part again. I still maintain that IN THE FUTURE (did you read it this time?) Rosa will not play instead of any of the midfielders mentioned in the Wolves players I mentioned previously.
If he won’t get in instead of them, let the lad go elsewhere, and play games. That is all MM has said he wants to do. Why is that so bad?
17. 18. Breretonwolf
Jez, don’t you have anything better to do on a Saturday without a game?
I’ve seen Rosa play & he seems to be a good passer and good runner with the ball, oh and he scores goals from midfield. I would have thought that he deserved a a try out from the bench and I would thought that he would have fitted in to a 4-5-1 system or even in the Right midfield slot whilst Kightly was out. He may not have been a first choice midfielder but with all the injuries that we have had, I would have given him a go instead of Potter. Lets face it , Michealy Gray is doing very well in midfield but he was only put there because we had no alternative at the time. had he been fit Rosa should have been that alternative.
When Rosa was scoring in reserves we were 3rd in the table, then he got injured, during that injury we weren’t playing well and he may have got his chance. Now he’s back we are playing well.
19) He was out for more than two months. Last I checked November to April is not two months unless you can’t count!
With all the comments and praising him of his professionalisms and him not fittig into our system,i wonder what MM must be thinking.
You don’t get this sort of players with true determinations and professionalsms nowadays MM!
21. idiots will just pick on anything to argue for micks departure. All because there mate said he was a cr*p manager and thats what they think. Fact is we could win the European cup and they’d still be upset.
Rosa is obviously not in any plans for the team that MM is building, that should be the end of the arguement.
who is this idiot?? ha..
We should have tried him especially during our bad patch earlier on in the year. He still is good enough to do a job for us and should at least get a few 15 minute try outs from the bench. Not only do I think it could well pay off but at the very least it will prove Mick was being honest when he said that any player with the right attitude and results in training or the reserves, would always be in line for a place in the starting eleven.
Any other player currently being fed that crock after being dropped [Fredy?], can only think of the way Denes has been treated and very soon think they need to be off at the end of this season.
Some of the inane comments are not worth responding to - but there are a lot of good points made on here. My initial post needs to be read properly. I said Denes should have been given a go when our midfield were playing badly - ie MOST of this season. Oli has only just started to play well - Edwards is injured but wasnt even here at the start, Potter is not good enough full stop, Henry has been poor up until Charlton ( even then he missed an open goal) Rosa has done nothing wrong. Brereton Wolf = foot = shoot = self !!
Stop living in the past Mick. Super Mick has turned it round and you are devastated. Go on admit it.
The fact that he has now got a settledside all beit a little late in the season. We have every chance of promotion. Dare i say even automatic if we beat Bristol.
We are in a healthy situation, back the manager and the club and see where it takes us. We can do without the negativity.
As for ROSA being a quality player and banging loads of goals in the reserves. A certain Leon Clarke bagged loads of goals in the reserves. Enough said eh.
Mick, have a look at McCarthys credentials, then have a look at yours and see who is better. No contest really.
Ebanks Blake off to Everton !!!!Rats, sinking ship, anyone.
Yes Leon Clarke was banging in the goals in the reserves and Rosa has done the same.
But some Dingles seem to live in dream land and believe that the reserves is such a fantastic standard of football.
Likam Hugnes scored many goals for the reserves but struggled at Stockport & Stafford which shows you dingles how “great” reserve team football is.
He deserves a chance at least on the bench! That should be what the reserves are for!!! MM has NEVER given him a chance - even when we have been playing Ward & Elliott. Also when Potter, Oli have been playing badly and when Kites & Jarvis have been injured. Disgraceful!!!
Can’t beleive such a talented player with an eye for goal has not been given a chance - Mick only has himself to blame if we miss out this season. Yes, we seem to have finally come good - but, ultimately, some of Micks’ early season team selection cost us the chance of automatic promotion and has left us with playoff lottery being our only realistic hope. And in a division packed with mediocrity - Bristol City, Watford, Stoke, Hull ???? give me bloody strength!!!!
Well, I thought Id seen it all…Rosa not in the same class as Oly n Henry…think some people should get down to specsavers………..
Rosa is as good as, no, not better than Oly n Henry & I’ve said it before, he plays as an attacking or defensice midfielder. You’d expect this to mean he has a weakness in either area but the fact is this guy is as strong & as skilful in wotever role he’s asked to play. If anyone wasnt sure then a football team is made up of a starting line up plus these things called substitutes. Everyone goes on about central midfield & in my books that means 2 places currently filled by 2 good players, but hang on a mo, does that mean that there could be a place on the substitutes bench…???…hmmm, I wonder.
I think the point is guys, yeah, Henry & Oly are capable players in a formation,BUT we have in Rosa a player that is as good as them both yet cant even get on the bench…not only is MM having trouble seeing that it seems a number of our fans are also having trouble…….
Said it before, hope Rosa doesnt come back to bite us in the future like others have in times past..I wish you well Den, youd always be in my squad, 11 in 9 in the reserves, what more has a guy got to do I ask…???????
The futures bright..the futures ORANGE N BLACK
There is no way that Rosa should be in the first team, at best he was average when I saw him play.
