16.55: Final whistle. Blues go down to another defeat but the teams below them are in much worse form. Get those comments coming in, Blues fans.

16.40: Josip Skoko fires over to waste a chance for Wigan to go 3-0 down. Blues are struggling here.

16.30: Murphy is booked for dissent. Blues will stay four points above the drop zone if all the scores stay the same.

16.25: Forrsell misses with a header from six yards out. McSheffrey makes way for Nafti. Bolton are now 3-0 down against Villa and Fulham are losing 2-0 at home to Sunderland. It will take a miracle for those two to avoid relegation, you would think, but Blues need to pick up points to keep their fate in their own hands.

16.21: Ryan Taylor scores again. He shoots right footed from six yards to pretty much assures Wigan of all three points.

16.07: The second half gets under way.

15.50: Half-time. Bolton are losing. That’s about all you can say as a positive for Blues. They need to rally and then claw their way back into the game during the next 45 minutes if they are to get a vital point or more.

15.40: More woe for Blues as Damien Johnson is red carded for a late tackle on Skoko. What a dsiastrous first half.

15.34: Finally something for Blues to get excited about, McSheffrey’s free kick.

But it goes over.

15.28: Blues old-boy Wilson Palacios is the nex to test his former goalkeeper, but Taylor, who is earning his wage in the opening half, is equal to it.

15.24: Heskey tries hisluck from outside the area but it sisaved by Taylor. Blues need to get into this game.

15.19: Valencia is causing Blues major problems and he brings a terrific save out of Taylor.

15.17: The home side take the lead through Ryan Taylor, shooting home from the edge of the area after he connected with Valencia’s cross.

15.11: Good chances for Wigan as Bent and Heskey go close.

15.06: It’s a nervous start to the game, with the referee the busiest man on the pitch.

14.55: Grudge match time. Steve Bruce has reopened the war of words with Blues this week - was that a wise move?
