Pub demolished by car crash

Accident scene

A neighbour who lives opposite, Mr Brian Westwood, aged 71, of Pedmore Road, said he heard a loud bang and rushed out of his bed to his window to see what had happened. “I thought a car had crashed, which has happened here before. I dashed to the window and saw the car. I couldn’t believe a car had caused so much damage. People came out of the pub to lift bricks and rubble off the car and then the building fell in.”

we were witnesses to the collapse of the pub last night. i was at the lye cross traffic lights and after hearing the bang i panicked as my boyfriend and four friends were in the pub at the time. as i turned the corner i saw that the car had crashed into the pub and had distroyed the lower floor wall. after phoning the emergency services as many others were. the people that were in the pub at the time including my friends and boyfriend that were in the pub began to come out and help to remove the rubble and help the people in the car. the front end of the car was completely smashed as emergency services began to arrive the upstairs of the pub collaped on top of the car and the people that were trying to help. there were only the two people in the front left in the car when the emergency services arrived. At the end of the day you don’t speed cause someone always gets hurt it might not be the driver who gets upset it could be his parents or relatives. I don’t think they will rebuild it because the amount of pubs that are closed down is pathetic and it would cost alot of money so I think they will just knock it down but you never know the could change their mind because the pub brought alot of money in to the pub industry. The car was defo written of it was particly crushed.
