Wolves boss beaten to award

mick2.jpgWolves boss Mick McCarthy has been beaten to the Coca-Cola Championship manager of the month award for March by Hull’s Phil Brown.

McCarthy was shortlisted for Wolves’ improved performances during the month that have taken them back into the play-off places.

Brown has admitted his side are “daring to dream” about promotion.

The Tigers currently sit in third, just a point behind Stoke, and are bearing down on an automatic promotion slot following a run which has seen them record wins against Burnley, Scunthorpe, Southampton, Colchester, Leicester and Watford.

“The last game against Watford was a massive result for us and, like the fans, we are daring to dream,” he said.

“We have got to where we are by believing in ourselves and we are going to continue to do that and enjoy ourselves over the next five games.”

Carlisle manager John Ward – a former Wolves assistant manager – has won the League One award for the second month running.

Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson scooped the award for League Two.

He has steered the club to the top of the table in his first full season of management and his side are currently 16 games unbeaten.

I will take manager of the month in April & May instead, lets take the roof of in our last home games, just like last season.

We have some massive home games to come & I honestly believe we have struggled at home a bit because the players can feel some negativity from the stands. We all have a place to play in getting in the play offs!!!!

We won’t have it all our own way in every game but sticking behind the players may win us vital free kicks or even a penalty, as an example I think the ref buckled under the pressure from the fans for the pen, to even things up against QPR.

If I’m at work and my customers and colleges are moaning at me I’d hate it. When I feel positive vibes from them I enjoy my work better & perform better. Footballers( in particular young ones) are human & are exactly the same.

The players have done there bit in putting a good run together we’ve got to back them up!!!!

Phil Brown deserved it more than Mick simple as, But I’m sure Mick isn’t bothered bout missing out, as it just puts more pressure on us.

As long as we keep our momentum, that’ll do for me.

Can’t win a gong in the Championship? How would he cope in the Premiership? Well, we already know that, as McCarthy holds the record of the most unsuccesful manager in the Premiership ever.

And there are idiots out there wanting this serial failure to lead us into the Premiership!

    There’s one born every minute!

Phil Brown was always gonna win it, still its not such a bad thing. I’d rather get into the play-offs than win this little award. I’m no Mick fan and I do like Freddie and sincerely hope he does not sell him but I will sing my head off to get behind the team to try and acheive a play-off place(or possibly more - hpefully) from now till the end of the season. So what if we come straight down. we get £60m+ in the process to re-build an even stronger Wolves

I’ve been saying it for years. Our fans can be out twelfth man. But they are often our achilles heel. The team are playing well and we have some massive matches at home, the crowd can really intimidate the opposition… when we want to !!!!. Some come on ALL wolves fans, put the negativity behind us and just scream for the lads.. WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER…. COME ON WOLVES !!
