Lichfield 2 Lane Head 3

goal.jpgLane Head played their first 9 a side game against a previously unbeaten Lichfield going a goal ahead within 3 minutes with a sweet strike from the edge of the box from Chelsea Main, she then increased Vipers lead with a long solo run and a cool finish.

Vipers then rode their luck with some great defending from Paige Harrison,Sarah Rhodes and Lucy Parke.

Goalkeeper Hayley Hickman was in fine form pulling off some brilliant saves. Vipers went 3-0 up with a shot from Sophie Boulton that deflected off Frankii Waltho into the net.

Second half Lichfield pulled 2 quick goals back which led to a very entertaining end to end game.

Chances came for Emily Butler whose shot went over the bar, Chelsea tried for her hat trick but to no avail, Frankii almost got another and Charlie Godwin had a couple of shots, one went wide and the other was saved.

If not for the brilliance of Emily Butler and star girl Paige Harrison Diamonds could have scored a couple more. Vipers held on for a well deserved win.

The girls were all shattered after making the step up from 7 to 9 a side on a much bigger pitch than they are used to.

Half Time score 0-3

Full Time score 2-3
