Villa keeper set to be fit for Utd

carson1.jpgScott Carson is likely to be fit to face Manchester United on Saturday despite having to pull out of the England squad for the midweek game with France.

Carson withdrew because of a knee problem and had a precautionary scan which revealed no long-term concerns for the Villa keeper.

A club spokesman said: “We didn’t think it was anything serious but, after consultation between our own medical team and England’s, it was decided a week away with the international squad may have aggravated the problem.”

I’m sure this is orders from the managers to keep them focussed on league matches rather than friendlies, There’s been Hennessey, Miller and Now Carson pull out from their Internationals, yet all saying they should be fit for their next matches.

Pity that Carson is fit after the way he has been playing lately. I would rather see Stuart Taylor between the sticks.
