Albion cup tickets going fast

cup.jpgAlbion have fewer than 9,000 tickets remaining from their 33,000 allocation for the FA Cup semi-final with Portsmouth at Wembley on April 5.

By close of business yesterday the club had sold more than 24,000 seats with season ticket holders and members only having until 5pm today to claim their guaranteed seat via the club’s online tickets system and the club’s Wembley hotline on 0121 525 8141 or 0121 524 3460 for disabled fans.

Pompei have club wembley seats negotiated by the club only about 80 @ £99 each according to the report. Can anyone suggest to JP that we do the same and a few more true supporters can enjoy the day. It will make a better atmosphere too I remember all those empty club wembley seats at the play off final last year.

Just out of interest anybody get sent two lots of tickets?. Not surprised they are selling fast if they continue to send double amount out than what people have paid for haha. No wonder ticket office was closed for ‘essential maintenance’.

and west brom call themselves a big club, oh dear oh dear oh dear

  14. Tamworth Baggie said:

11, Lets just put you straight, we are not struggling to sell the tickets we have simply sold them in a manor that makes sure the supporters that go week in week out get their tickets 1st and have the choice of the price bands. Its what you call a staggered sale so that people cant just go and buy 5 or 6 tickets and pass them onto their mates who may of only attended a couple of games.

Hopefully you now understand….. or maybe not as you seem as thick as a plank!!!!

  15. SuperMaths said:

Anyone having probs getting through to the ticket line for normal match tickets?
I’m trying to get my ticket for the Cardiff game but can’t get through!
Are they using the 0871 number for Wembley too?

  16. Karl Wood said:

Well portsmouth are doing the tickets in stages and are totally sold out at the moment. You still have 9000
    9000 available and c’mon c’mon who’s thick now.
Work it out, you know your gonna get beat, so maybe some people are scared of goin.

  17. Karl Wood said:

We have already sold more then yourselves and yours have been available earlier and made easier to
    obtain then ourselves

  18. Tracy said:

Considering the fact that the ticket sales were disrupted by the bank holiday and the fact that they closed the on-line ticket sales and the phone lines for a day, I think having less than 9,000 tickets left with still over a week to go is fantastic. The staggered sales mean that all season ticket holders and members will have had a chance to get their ticket. I personally got my own ticket on the first day and then rang for another yesterday. I will be very surprised if all the tickets don’t sell. As for all the mean spirited comments from the minority of Wolves fans who have deemed it necessary to voice there opinion on this site, all I have to say is i’d rather be in the position I am now, than where you are. At least I have a choice as to whether I attand the game at Wembley or not, which is a hell of a lot more than you do.

  19. Tamworth Baggie said:

Karl Wood. you have a campacity of 20,000 at your shed of a ground, therefor im guessing that you have about 14,500 season ticket holders so alot less people to keep happy. We have 24,000 on our database which means its alot longer process for us to go through the staggered sale process than yourselves, we will sell out no problem, and yes i admit you are favourites to win but its not a forgon conclusion, lets hope your players think they just have to turn up lik you do, you will have a shock then i tell you!!!

  20. Jonah said:

    16. I hope that your players think that they only have to turn up to win as well. If Barnsley can beat Liverpool and Chelsea, we certainly have a chance of beating Pompey.

Ignore the dingles on here… one word describes them…. JEALOUS!!!!!!!

They are using 0871 271 9780 for Wembley Tickets. It takes 15mins to get answered that’s if you can get on the queue and are not cut off when you get to the front of the queue. Hopefully you can get to a computer and purchase on line mate.

They introduced a new system for selling them before thinking it thro so those with more than one person on listed on their account have to call up the albion.
Normally, you go to the ticket office to buy a seat and they send you away to the pay on the day kiosks where your details can’t be registered on your card for big games.
Perhaps the ticket office or someone in management will read this as the WBA ticket office doesn’t appear to want to look at its systems with supporters in mind.
Unfortunately, nothing changes at the ticket office.

    I could go on…..

  26. Karl Wood said:

Our players will turn up, as we will put a weakended side out on saturday against Wigan.
Yes our ground is smaller, but I love it and and we have as many season ticket holders and members as yourselves. None of our tickets have been available though the club direct until tomorrow. If we had 35, 000 stadium, it would be filled easily. Your just a smaller club compared
    to Villa and Birmingham.

  27. Karl Wood said:

Great to see that our club is still focussed on the little people and not just concentrating on the glamour game!!!

Metaphorically….you are wasting your breath in attempting to reason, or give factual statements,
facts just spoil a good argument as far as the
dingle element among the Wolves fans are concerned.
I swear if Samuel Eto signed for the Baggies,
you would have them saying he is crap.

( Oh, and before someone says Eto would never sign for Sandwell/Tescos whatever……again it`s just a metaphor.

Where are you Malvern, E 11, Zoff,
let`s have some proper footy chat.

  30. Baggie Boy said:

3… Its because our club know how to sell them properly..

I actually think the way we have sold them this year is much better than the way they sold them for wembley last year (oohh listen to me as if we play there every year)

We will have no tickets left when the day comes I can assure you of that

  31. Kegworth Baggie said:

Fair play to Pompey - at least they’ve got an atmosphere

Derby, Bolton have got. If we don’t win it then I hope
Pompey go on to win it. Having a good laugh at the tatter’s
jealous comments on here - when was your last big day out? Cardiff or Stoke away
probably when your moronic fans can have fun glassing and slashing
    people.

  32. Cyril Randle said:

No. 26. I remember the last game of the season 1994 when the Baggies took over Portsmouth and outnumbered you at YOUR home game. You were outsung, outfought and you LOST 1-0. Portsmouth won the league Division 1 back in about 1949 and 1950 but only because we sold you the best centre forward you had had up until then, one Ike Clark. As for Villa, they have marginally more trophies than we have won, Birmingham have sadly, never won anything. We are NOT a Birmingham club, but a Black Country club and VERY proud of it. Now stop trying to copy the few Wulfies on here whose only source of enjoyment is spiteful comment. We shall give you a game on April 5th, regardless of the outcome. Oh, and don’t worry about the noise, you’ll hear us.

When we were playing champayne football under Big Ron our attendances were around 17 -19 k
Go and look in the record books.
Our attendance has been growing over the last few years and we are now averaging around 22-23k.
This is in spite of price increases and being in a lower division than with Big Ron.
We like Pompey and Wolves are clubs with a proud history. I would not say that we are big in terms of fan base like Villa, Liverpool, Man Ure and Newcastle.
The Wolves are jealous (and they are not alone) Looks like our hopes of European football are better than Villa at the mo. We will sell the 33,000; but properly this time so that those tickets remaining in the next week are the ones going to the part time attendees and the friends of friends of STH who last year got theri tickets ahead of members since the STH were allocated more than 1. Simple. The execution could have been quicker but there you go.
Other thing is that we may be off to Wembley again for the final and hopefully not but possibly again in the P/off final (I would be P’d off!)
At least the FA have realised it is our second home now and the Stripes will be marching in on Wembley this year.
I’d rather have this than 10 premiership points and Earnshaw and Savage too.
Or a millionare chairman who doesn’t spend his dosh.
    Boinging to Wembley
6 important points to play for first.

  44. Malvern Wolf said:

Hi Forever, cheers for the mention. One of the posts above mentioned the Derby playoff final. I have hardly ever been so angry as I was at the sight of all those empty seats and I should say this is NOT aimed at you or even Derby for that matter. There must have been loads of Baggies even if not regulars every week but occasional fans who could not get a ticket, and imagine how they must have felt seeing thousands of empty seats. Whoever gets there this year must demand a change of policy so that the biggest game of the year is played to a full house.

  45. Wbaforever said:

    Michael

I will show you good grace and call you by your name.

It`s patently obvious that you hate Albion with a passion,
    and that is your prerogative,
it wouldn`t do for me though, hate is a debilitating cancer and renders the individual
    devoid of rational thought.

I would just like to say that i am astonished
by your holier than thou comment (37)
you are on here daily, with increasingly bilious attacks about anything Albion,
    yesterday you called someone SCUM!!
    (a vile terminology)
then have the temerity to claim the moral high ground when someone reciprocates with a volley
    back.

  46. Smethwick Baggie said:

This to all the wolves fans. We have still 9.000 left, because season ticket holder and members were
only allowed one ticket each, so really its going to take some time to sell them. This would not happened at the wolves, because they would give their season ticket holders 5 each STH.

  47. The Rockstar said:

Furthermore smethwick baggie….Barnsley and Pompey fans were allowed more than one ticket with each season ticket holder. In Barnsley’s case i think it was 4 each !!!
Its no good trying to explain it to the thick dingles, there as they are planks.
We’ve got a great day out to look forward to,and all they can think of is their cup final when we hit town.

  48. Wbaforever said:

    Malvern Hi mate

Yes the thousands of empty seats really was at best farcical and at worst, a disgrace.
All down to the great God money again,
Club Wembley owners have probably paid the equivalent of the national debt in the form of debentures for their seats and choose to use them, or not, as the case may be.

I tell you what though mate………
average gate 22000 ish 33000 tickets,
i guarantee there will still be GENUINE fans
    that miss out,
i think the club are doing everything in their power to ensure this does not happen,
the system they have adopted appears fairer than the playoff one.

I was very annoyed last time, when a mate of mine, who attends regularly, but is not on the clubs database…missed out,
my anger was compounded, when i spoke to a woman in a Wembley pub who informed me the last time she attended a Baggies game was the
    1993 playoff final against Vale.
I also spoke to a Villa fan who`s Albion STH mate had got him the ticket.

  49. wbabomber said:

I am simply astonished at the some of the comments on here today.
I think the club should be applauded for the hardline approach the have taken to ensuring that the real fans get their hands on tickets first. I have mine, but i have friends who are awaiting theirs, but they havent been to as many games for varying reasons.
Win or lose it will be a great day out, two great sets of fans with teams who play attacking football.
Oh and Michael, you really are a strange character, you relay yourself in an articulate manner but then make comments like “i went through west bromwich and it made me sick”.
Do you really just hate wba that much that it makes you have terets like episodes???

A responsible club looks after all its sth by only selling 1 ticket each not like Cardiff and Pompei 2 and Barnsley 3 in the first phase. This means that every sth has the chance to obtain 2 tickets only compared to a min 3 or 4 for the other clubs, which is the fairer system and takes a little longer to complete.

(Still no explanation why you couldnt even sell 25000 for your home play off game last year, but still).

Forever it is inevitable that there will be people complaining about the sale of tickets however it is done. Basically if I get a ticket it is good system and if I don’t it’s a poor one.
