Albion striker Luke Moore has finally broken his silence on the red card that threw his Baggies career into crisis.
Moore today spoke for the first time about the dismissal against Leicester that has ruled him out of club action until after the FA Cup semi-final with Portsmouth on April 5.
“It happens in football,” said Moore, who was handed a straight red card for a foul on Leicester defender Richard Stearman.
“I haven’t seen the tackle again but some people say it was harsh and some say it wasn’t.
“I’m suspended now but I can’t wait to get back.”
Moore is just one match into a three-game suspension for the red card and he is cup-tied for the semi-final at Wembley, extending his absence to four matches.
He admitted his challenge on Stearman was badly mistimed but he insisted he will not change his approach in the wake of the incident.
“I was late but I think it maybe looked worse on TV and I don’t think it should have been a sending off,” he said.
“What can you do? You just have to get on with it.
“I got sent off but I was only trying to help my team.
“It was an honest tackle and I’m not a dirty player. This is the first red card I’ve ever had.
“I was trying to help the team. Part of my game is chasing defenders down and I’m not going to change that but hopefully I won’t get sent off again.”
“Life goes on. It’s a red card, not the end of the world and I’ll be back for the run-in.
“That’s the main thing and hopefully I can help the boys do what they have done this season and help them push on.”

Lets hope that he gets his head down and works his socks off in training so he is ready and raring to go when he is back. I think we will see the best of Luke next season after a full pre season with the club. i for one dont think he has shown much since his arrival but have a feeling that he will come good, and no better place to start that at the Custard Bowl on the 15th!!!
watched him turn up for england..he was the worst player on the pitch…lazy, body language crap…he is overpaid..over rated and I hope TM has the option not to buy the plonker. ps and I am a baggies supporter.
i went to the golden palace last night in hope of seeing stars of the future, many of which will surely grace molineux,s famous turf in the premiership next season then europe the next. but although i was impressed with many england players such as johnson and jerome, the bad news for albion fans is that luke moore looked a little uncomfortable at this level and i dont think martin oneill is wrong too often
MMDP… you got no chance of Premiership football next season, but Europe is there for the taking….I really can’t wait to see you in Cardiff again.
well if Martin O’neil isn’t wrong too often we have a quality player mate, as he didn’t want Luke Moore to leave the club….so cheers
Your just another thick footballer Luke so you should do well in Tesco land…
You’ve already lost them one match so keep up the good work Sunny Jim…
i was only trying to tell you in a polite way that he is not a very good player but he may have found his level for next season in the championship. and o,neill was just being diplomatic, especially with a chance to make some easy money for his club and offload a dud to silly sandwell town
Not good enough for Vile
Too good for the boggies
Perhaps he should he to Port Vale, they seem to be fighting to stay in League 2….lol
“You could’nt sell all your tickets…..
No.3 You don’t think O’Neill is wrong too often? He’s paying how much for Curtis Davies?
6… You obviously have access to albion players academic capabilities to back up your post.
or is it just another worthless post once again from your ever growing list of classics
Overrated rubbish. I really hope the rumours that he’s part of the Davies deal are untrue. We’ve got better than Moore in the Youth team.
I hope ‘Sandwell Pampers’ and ‘Miss Cheif Maker’ keep joining in on our comments page - I
would really miss their intelligent banter. Obviously nothing of interest on the Wolves page then?

well its amazing how you lot where all saying how Curtis Davis was the greatest when he was at you crappy little club but now hes crap all of a sudden because hes left.
grow a brain idiot.
if O,neil really wanted to keep Luke(bags of goals) Moore he would have just the same as Man city would have kept Miller.
i am sure Luke Moore sat down and was told by O,Neil that he was really wanted at the club and he obviously said no id rather go to sandwell its a lot more glamorous.
grow up you soft idiots.
3,youv just made my day,i fell off my chair laffin boing boing laffin all the way to wembley
end of the day lads he’s albion now, lets get behind him, yeah he made a mistake everyone does, just happened to be a big one that made a difference. second chance you might say, we can crack on from here. give the league a real good go.also, win, loose or draw another day at wembley my only concern at the moment is… will we have nice weather next week??? boing boing best season in a long time. we deserve it!
terrywembleybaggie:
You can’t sell all your tickets, you even tried to get Kent Wolf on a free transfer…..lol
Mick the Messiah leading Wolves back to the promised land!
Has anybody worked out exactly what his main attributes are meant to be ? He’s no good in the air, he doesn’t seem particularly quick, he hasn’t got any strength/presence in the box and rather importantly for a striker, he hasn’t scored. Add to that, the fact that he’s obviously not the brightest player judging by his comments on the sending off, and we’ve got a real bargain.
14.You remind me of one of the patients in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO,S NEST,you have,nt got all your marbles.
Just 1 thing to say to all the wolves fans how many players were called up to the u21 from your team??????????? miller and moore albion 2 wolves big fat 0 Miller was called up then had to drop out he did’nt want to get covered in custard
19 . sure it was custard?
How many games has he had? This is why our players are having a rocky run in cause our fans are turning into dingles! Kamara was dire in his first season for us then amazing the second.Give the guy a chance…he is a baggie now. He wouldnt be in the u21 if he was bad.
£1.5 Million for SEB or £4 million for Moore. I know which one I would go for.
22. Spot on. No need for you to sign prem strikers whereas a championship striker should give you good service for many years to come.
All LUKE MOORE needs is a goal then watch him go,next season we will see the best of him a good preseason and back in the premier where you can play proper football.
I hope he will do better… ok he cant tackle but if he tries harder he can be good on BBC Sport it says he is joining PERNAMNTLY in the summer
COME ON YOU BAGGIES!!!!
oh yh and MMDP your sunday league club have already wrecked 1 future International a certain Mr Freddy Eastwood!
24 Dream on you fool, he was hopeless last night. Who in the Premier League is going to take him. He failed at Villa and you load of jokers have no chance of promotion. Get real
No8 said “You could’nt sell all your tickets….”
…they’re still selling dimwit!
question is are your unsold tickets from last seasons play-off game still selling….?
12 said “well its amazing how you lot where all saying how Curtis Davis was the greatest when he was at you crappy little club but now hes crap all of a sudden because hes left.”
No idiot, we were saying he was a good promising centre back, comfortable in possession and plenty of pace but still with quite a bit to learn (plenty of errors still in his game) he was a bit too good for the championship (but possibly not quite good enough for a big premier team?) - but we all laughed when villa paid £10 million+ for him, promising? - yes, finished article? - not by a long way! (what ever capello or o’neill think!)
24.
yeah really wrecked freddy thats why he played for wales tonight and scored two goals.
Sunday league team last time i looked you where in the same league as us.
so what does that make you. go figure!!!
good luck in the semis would rather a midlands team win the cup.
hopefully we can get into the play offs and go up but if not we will have one hell of a team to start with next season.
the real bully.
neither of our clubs have signed proven prem strikers. Luke Moore wasn’t playing at Villa and lets face it if he was good enough he would have been, same for Miller at Man city and SEB at Wolves so really you have no room to talk.
and before you throw your rattle out of your pram that is just my opinion based on the facts i have seen. but thats not to say none or all of them will be good enough for the prem.
Micheal - actually Luke Moore IS a proven premiership striker - he was just out of favour at the moment - but he has played and scored regularly previously.
You are right that Miller is not a proven prem striker (although we got him from a prem club) but so what - he is now a proven Championship striker who I have no doubt will do a good job in the prem should we get there.
And just to prove that we can discuss football, I also think SEB is a quality striker - and although I aint seen much of him he seems to know where the goals are and thats a skill you can’t learn. He also may do a job in the prem - but will he ever get the chance ??
Michael.
Sorry to upset you again. The posting in question was meant as banter in reply to another posting. If I’m making a serious point I’m usually much more long winded and boring. But good to see a genuine reply from you, I can only say that I wholeheartedly agree with you. Never thought you’d hear that did you?
Lets hope he has learnt his leason, next time he should think before he tries to tackle with his studs showing
32.
thats twice now that we have agreed. okay once was that i was a pillock.
Happy Baggie.
my point was that Luke Moore is playing championship football if he is a proven prem striker he would not be playing in the championship and that this also does not mean he will not one day be a proven prem striker yes he as played in the prem and scored but to be proven surely you have to score on a regular basis over several seasons.
same with Miller and same with SEB.
whether they prove this at the clubs they are currently playing for is yet to be seen.
