“We say lots of people are funny, but he’s the real thing,” said US talk show host David Letterman of the grizzly American stand-up Rich Hall.
Well known for his deadpan style and vitriolic humour both in his homeland and the UK, Rich has become a firm fixture on the circuit, even scooping two Emmy awards for the material he wrote for the David Letterman Show.
Over here, Rich is also popular on the ‘Beeb, Rich has notched up two successful series’ including Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive and Rich Hall’s Fishing Show, along with appearances on Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
His infamous alter-ego Otis Lee Crenshaw, the trailer-trash, country-singing redneck with a penchant for women named Brenda and a bizarre backing back called The Black Liars, has been a sell-out success at many an Edinburgh Festival.
And it’s a bourbon-soaked Otis who’ll be entertaining audiences at Telford’s Oakengates Theatre on 13th May!
