Walsall boss targets ‘winnable’ games

money2.jpgWalsall manager Richard Money has targeted six of their remaining matches as ‘winnable’ as he bids to get their play-off bid back on track.

Saddlers have taken just one point from a possible 12 in their last four games and slipped out of the play-off places as a result.

The defeat at Leeds means that Saddlers currently sit in ninth position in the League One table prior to today’s Banks’s clash with Crewe, which along with their final five fixtures of the season, is one of those that Money has identified as a must win clash.

“We’ve got some tasty looking fixtures still to come,” Money said.

“We’ve got Southend and Tranmere, which are going to be tough, but the other six games - and it’s always dangerous to look at fixtures on paper - they are winnable games and we’ve got to try and get as many points as we can from those six games.”

“Our five home games are going to be crucial from now until the end of the season and that’s why we really need everybody pushing as much as we can.”

Money once again called on the fans to get behind the team and create the kind of atmosphere that will inspire his tired troops to victory against Crewe this afternoon.

“Today is a day where we really need the support,” Money said.

“We need people at home to be like our supporters were at Leeds on Saturday - they were fantastic.

Winnable? I don’t think so, not the way we are playing at the moment.

NO CHANCE. I CANNOT SEE WHERE THE GOALS ARE GOING TO COME FROM.
