Walsall manager Richard Money is hoping his key performers can cope with the rigours of two tough matches in the space of three days.
After travelling to Elland Road today, they face Crewe at the Banks’s on Monday and while Money can’t wait for today’s televised clash, he is concerned about the physical ability of players such as Tommy Mooney to fully recover in time.
“We’re proud to be on Sky at the weekend and we’re looking forward to it,” Money said.
“My only concern is that it leaves us a very short space of time to play on Monday.
“We’ll just have to hope we come through the game without too many injury problems and hopefully be able to pick the same team and go again on Monday.
“Because I think the togetherness of the group can help pull us through.”
Mooney missed out as a precaution at Swansea with a tight hamstring last month after facing Yeovil three days earlier and Money is anxious not to lose his skipper and top scorer again.
“We’ll have to find out whether or not Tommy Mooney will be able to play two matches in three days,” Money said.

He as had plenty of time to get replacements . Spent less this year and had more coming in ??????
The wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. Just one meaningful shot on goal which really, Tommy should have buried. Played well in patches but we never looked like hurting them. No firepower and as much as I have liked Ropes in the past, he is just far too slow and cumbersome. He was turned time and time again, booked once and came seriously close to getting himself booked a second time and sent off. I just cannot see us getting back into the play off picture now.
He has got a squad that he ecludes the st yr pros from WHY they need a chance to develop and proceed in the game not lest demotivated and wasted. He could not inspire a sunday league team. WORK WITH WHAT HE HAD a great bunch of youngsters
