Albion defender Leon Barnett was today ruled out for tomorrow’s trip to Charlton as striker Sherjill MacDonald joined The Hawthorns injury list.
Scans on Barnett’s hamstring injury have revealed damage he sustained in the 4-1 defeat to Leicester is not serious.
But the centre-back will still not be fit in time to face the Addicks tomorrow.
Meanwhile, MacDonald is due for surgery in the next few days to repair damaged cartilage although his rehabilitation period is only expected to last for a couple of weeks.
Manager Tony Mowbray will also be without midfielders Chris Brunt and James Morrison again for tomorrow’s televised clash as they continue their recovery from hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.
But he is hopeful full-back Carl Hoefkens will be back in contention in South London following hamstring trouble of his own.
Mowbray said: “Injuries aren’t good at the moment but the good news is that Carl has trained for the last few days and will hopefully be available.
“Leon has hopefully got a grade one hamstring injury which will take 10-14 days to heal.
“Chris Brunt has started running but probably won’t be ready for tomorrow and James Morrison will probably be out for another week or so.
“Sherjill Macdonald has injured cartilage and he will have an operation in the next day or two.”

It never rains at the Albion it just POURS,
Oh well if this wont test our strenght in
depth nothing will.As said before we need to put the ball in the
net early doors then we can start to dictate the
pace of the game.In Mowbray we trust Boing Boing
So why, oh why are we not in the market for the loan signing of a defender or two then, ToMo?
As a relatively successful central defender yourself you sure have been slow in addressing the one aspect of our team that would have practically ensured promotion.
Catching the distinct lack of ambition at our Club already?
So near and yet so far. Once again.
Has Tony Daley joined WBA’s staff as Fitness Coach?
Your having as many injuries as us!
3.. Kent, I was told Tony Daley on drove past the ground and looked what happened!!! lol
4. what a complete idiot you are
Our armchair army probably arnt too bothered as long as our best players are fit for the cup.
God our physio is earning is money at the mo, strongly agree with no. 2 as much as i love tomo
he is too naive with his tactics but if we do go up then moogga you will a god and i will love
you more than my misses actually i love the wolves more than her lol! onwards and upwards. boing boing
Looking at the injuries I can still pick a very good side, surely we can cope
Kiely
Hoefkens, Cesar, Albe, Robinson
Gera, Koren, Pele, Greening
Phillips, Miller
or
Kiely
Hoefkens, Cesar/Pele, Albe, Robinson
Gera, Koren,Greening, Miller
Phillips, Bednar
Either way still a team that on paper should be good enough
5.. Have we had a sense of humour failiure or have you never had one.
Why is it there is always 1 moronic poster
See what I mean Kent wolf ? we are having a little joke good banter no name calling etc.. and up pops ray the wolf!!!!
In Mowbray we trust, i think not, same as last year, clueless when it comes to the final sprint, playing
Moore last week and leaving 30+ goals on the bench was a joke, defenders STILL not taken in on loan,
Why was Pele not at centre half last week and MA at right back ?, no plan B Mowbray !!! Are we not recalling Clement ?
Another Wacky Race to the finish line, games in hand count for nothing.
In Bednar, Miller and Phillips we trust.
My for team tomorrow
GK Denk
Def Hoefkens Pele Albe Robinson
Mid Gera Koren Greening Kim
Att Phillips Miller
Think we need Cesar back in defence - yes, his game against Barnsley was shocking to say the least, but before then he seemed pretty solid. But he wasn’t even in the reserves squad this week, so wondering why? Surely it’s better to play him who’s got a lot more 1st team experience than Pele - personally I think Pele looked better at Coventry when he was midfield. I’d play Hoefkens, Cesar, Albre, Robbo at the back, with Gera,, Koren, Pele and Greening. Stick Kev and Miller up front and it’s a done deal!
And of course bring Bednar on in the 2nd half to get a guaranteed goal!
If it’s a choice between Bednar or Miller starting tomorrow (or any game) with Kevin Phillips, it’s got to be Bednar for me. Miller is the better impact player, to make a difference if he came on as sub. However, this is only a minor issue in the grand scheme of things (as long as they are both above Luke Moore in the pecking order!)
you tescos are complaining about your injurys. We have had our best players out all season. barnetts no great loss hes a bit of a carthorse. a nice draw on this one im going for 0-0 at charlton, which in the grand scheme of things is a good result, especially with your awful defence.
Goebbels was Hitler’s propaganda merchant. He believed if you shouted something often enough, loud enough and convincingly enough, folks would eventually believe it. I’ve just checked these facts on BBC.
WBA goals for 73 against 47. Wulfies goals for 41 against 40 . Now by VERY simple maths, (can’t have too much pressure on brain cells), that means we score 1.78 goals for every goal you score and let in 1.175 goals for every one you do. Now just where is this ‘awful defence’? I can see an AWFUL ATTACK quite easily.
2 & 10.
You certainly live up to your names.
5.
Better than being an incomplete idiot like you.
12.
What a lovely oasis of calm and common sense you provide.
15.
Big mistake trying to use common sense on 14, which happens to be his IQ as well as his posting number.
oh well, with all these injuries at least we can blame them if our season falls apart,BUT eh come on two wins and we will be top back where we belong…..DOING THE DOUBLE THE MOWBRAY WAY,,,AND WITH INJURIES TOO, ,,
Real Bully - why thankyou! Although I may not be as calm this time tomorrow
My starting XI 4 2morrow would read a little bit like this:-
Danek
Hoefkins Ceasar Albrechtsen Robinson
Pele
Greeing Kim
Gera Koren
Bednar
What I find difficult to comprehend is some, just a few, of our own supporters posting against the best gaffer we’ve had since Ossie Ardiles. Would you like back in his place Gobbie Gould, Alan-only Grimsby-players-Buckley, Oxford discard Smith, Bryan Robson, Don Howe, or even Ron Hatpins? Never in a million years for me. Football is a business, at times a dirty business. We have been blessed with two first class Chairmen in Paul Thompson and Jeremy Peace, the club wants for nothing in facilities for the players, the ground is big enough for a medium sized club, (that’s reality rather than silly fiction), the supporters have been voted the best in the past, we have the most hated enemy in the Wulfies, (recent fact finding mission). Just what the Hell does it take to stop a few moaners? Count your blessings, we could be like Cardiff, in the Semis and owing £24million squid, or skint like Barnsley. You can book your season ticket for next year knowing we’ll be playing in either the Prem or the Championship, alive, well and hopeful.
whos have we got left? we are running out of players!
20. Cyril.
Interested to see no mention of King Gary. No we didn’t play the beautiful game under him but without him Tm certainly wouldn’t have had a chance to do what he’s achieving now. Gary was our Bill Shankley, he paved the way for those that followed. I normally agree with what you say but not on this one. Ossie’s short time here was filled with beautiful football in the third division but doesn’t hold a candle to Mr Megson’s record. Saved us from almost certain relegation. Play offs the following year. Followed by two more promotions, All this achieved on a very modest budget before being chopped off at the knees. This is in no way knocking TM. I’ve enjoyed this seasons style of play immensely but he still has a long way to go to match Gary Megsons record.
