A teenager from the Black Country is learning the art of striking a pose after taking part in her first fashion shoot as the winner of a national modelling competition.
Beccie Gibbons, aged 17, landed a contract after winning a model search organised by Wolverhampton-based Sapphires Model Management and high street fashion chain Vero Moda and Jack and Jones. The Rowley Regis teenager was among 2,000 hopefuls who entered the competition and one of 26 who made it to the grand final.
Beccie, a student at Halesowen College, was named female winner earlier this month and part of her prize was to star in a professional photo fashion shoot.
She and the male winner of the competition, Manchester teenager Kyle Jones, were photographed by Sapphires agency from the rooftop of Waterstones building in Birmingham city centre.

Beccie, who is studying theatrical and media make-up, said she was thrilled how well the shoot went.
“It was quite a blustering day but it went really well.
The model agency gave me advice on how to pose for the camera and by the end of the shoot I felt very confident,” said the teenager, who also won £1,000 in fashion vouchers.
Scouts from Wolverhampton agency Sapphires spent six weeks sifting through applications for the competition following a series of road shows nationwide.
Former Wolverhampton University graduate Neely Reyes, who runs Sapphires Model Management, said she was delighted at the response to the competition.
“It really was a tough contest as the entrants were all fantastic. Each one of them is a winner as far as we are concerned,” she said.
“But it is certainly a bonus to have a local girl winning a national competition.”
She added: “Beccie was brilliant. During her year contract with us she’ll be doing anything from catwalk shows to hair and beauty modelling.”
