West Bromwich Albion has blocked plans to hike children’s and pensioners’ ticket prices for their FA cup semi-final.
Fellow semi-finalists Barnsley tried to block concessionary prices for both Wembley clashes on April 5 and 6, it is claimed.
The plan would have meant thousands of fans paying £10 extra for their tickets to see Albion take on Portsmouth on April 5.
But officials at the club resisted Barnsley’s efforts to squeeze more cash out of supporters. According to reports West Brom was joined by rivals Portsmouth and Barnsley’s opponents Cardiff in their opposition to the price hike.
Albion has already sold more than 11,000 tickets for their clash with Portsmouth. They have been allocated 33,000 seats for the game. A phoneline has been launched today, alongside the on-line ticketing system, for season-ticket holders fans to buy tickets.

well done Wst Brom, a team for thier fans
Don’t you think Luke Steele has made them enough money, bloomin scandulous
Flippin’ Barnsley! Only after the money & not the Cup.
They deserve to get THRASHED!
I would back West Brom all the way on this, fair play to you guys
I think albion fans should pay the extra £10 quid, after all just think how much money they`ll save when there still in the championship next year now the bubbles burst….. come on you wolves
You can’t give the tickets away after Saturday.
5. & 6. Bitterness and envy - two very unbecoming traits that you possess in abundance.
5.. What a complete idiot you are!!!!
Do you just post to antagonise fellow posters there are genuine Wolves fans backing Albions decision and idiots like you hate all things albion.
The FA cup is all about the fans Barnsley are well out of order
now if you have nothing to post aprt from your normal dribble my advise save your electric and dont bother
By the way our season tickets are the same price dont matter what division next year.
Well done baggies the peoples club looking after the kids.
Remember moxey fighting wolves corner last season!! ha ha ha ha
1 CHICKEN 2 CHICKEN THERE THEY GO COUNTING AGAIN
The WBA board know they will struggle to sell their allocation at the price they are at now, so hiking them up wouldnt be a good idea.
Come on Happy_Baggie,say something.Anything.Just talk to us about how it all went wrong and how it was the ref’s fault and only a few of you were booing and how you’re going to beat Pompey and your just one big, happy family and it can’t be THAT bad again. Can it?
5 , 6 , 11 and 12.
That green eyed monster is coming out to play.Just remind me again , what’s the highlight of your season ? Oh yes , I remember , playing us.
We’ll try not to embarrass you again.
struggle to sell allocation??? No 12 you are a complete idiot.
12) they same way you struggled to sell your play off tickets at the custard bowl last year. Listen dingles lets get something straight. we have lost one game mainly due to the fact of playing 2/3 of the game with 10 men. It happens teams lose and much as you would like it we will not turn into you lot moaning and moaning and moaning. 99% of baggies have complete faith in TM we will go up and we will come to mol and turn you over. And have a day out at wembley win or lose it will be a good day.
You guys had nothing on us last week and you have nothing on us now, i for one are glad you won i hope you make the play offs cause your face’s at the hawthorns last year when we knocked you out was priceless, we may have cried at wembley but you cried like girls at the Hawthorns as we stood and laughed at you….. do you remeber
well done albion, make sure they dont put them up for the final either boing boing going to wembley with xtra tenner
now, now boys play Nicely !!!
TWB Extra tenner is only for kids or oap.You can’t be a kid cos it’s stll school time when your’e writing and oap would’nt be able to use coputer so you are a fraud.TWB is a fraud.
Terry Leicester Baggy, are you up for my deal?
To all Dingles just read post 16!!!! The words are just magic boing boing till i die
We will support the lads forever, envy must be so so hard for all dingles to live with.the team of dreams and never winning any Boing Boing
16, Your £50m team blew it last season just like your going to blow it this season, we where still pinching ourselves we’d made the playoffs with our kids. Oh and we still beat you at Mol.
Chokers.
We are Wolves.
there is a saying in life..never count your chickens,,i know a little bird,,who in the last week has lost some feathers..hope they keep falling out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Typical idiots the lot of you. Only content when you are arguing amongst yourselves. I support any club that does the decent thing by its fan base even if those fans are too engrossed in pettinous with rival teams.
Well said Bob and Kat. The pathetic Albion / Wolves squabbling on here would not be out of place in a primary school playground! Grow up the lot of you!
I think the three clubs who opposed this move should be commended by true football fans! It’s not often these days that the opportunity to make money is passed up, so hats off to Cardiff (who are in millions of pounds of debt), Pomepey and The Baggies.
I am off now before someone threatens to get their Dad onto me…
well done to the albion for putting the fans first, at least you won’t have to queue up for your “pie and a pint” apology.
Power to the fan base !!!!
What’s going on with the phone lines for tickets? The main one is down and the other one will only serve disabled people.. even though someon answers they will do nothing to help! What has being diabled got to do with a person’s ability to wait in a virtual queue like the rest of us?
Shame on you West Brom, you don’t deserve to sell all the tickets!
16 - Yes, I remeber. I remeber it well.
