X show winning factor in final

netball1.jpgIn the Wolverhampton City Netball League’s Open KO Cup Final Whitmore X maintained their winning streak.

Forcing the ball up court with long open passes which were finished off by spot-on shooting, they scored a resounding 34-17 win over Wednesfield, whose recent  fine form seemed to desert them.

Despite finishing second in Division Five, Molineux Juniors fell short in the Plate KO Cup Final as J & G Builders from Division Three proved too strong, winning 20-12.

Both Centre Court formations – Jane Brown, Jane Carter and Jo Daffern of J&G – and Rachel Hollingsworth, Sharna Khan-Bishton and Rachael Smith of Molineux Jnrs, had  contained each other with short, sharp passing and neat sidestepping.

In the Non-Winners KO Cup Final, Third Division Molineux faltered against First Division Chasers, who took every chance to wind up easy 34-9 winners.

In Division Five in the league, Deans Park, who have been crushed repeatedly this season, went into double figures but still

lost out by five goals to Fahrenheit.

In Division Three Phoenix clinched their second place by outplaying Breezers by 12 goals.
