MPs get £10k for kitchen expenses

House of CommonsMPs are allowed to claim expenses of up to £10,000 for a new kitchen, £2,000 for furniture and £750 for a TV or stereo for their second homes.

Other claims allowable include £6,335 for a new bathroom, £299.99 for air conditioning units, £300 per rug, £50 for a shredder and £1,000 for a bed.

The figures are in the so-called “John Lewis list” used by Commons officials to list maximum amounts for items.

Most MPs can claim items from the list up to a maximum of £23,000 a year.

Perhaps King Arthur and Cromwell both need to come back and sort out the state of the nation, and in particular our ruling elite !!!!

As stated a few months ago more and more will be revealed, now you know why Brown and the jock mafia want their own to investigate themselves.

We have been trying to expose this corruption for 14 years, ten years agressively, now its affecting everyone suddenly the corruption is being exposed.

Is it me that is stupid as i can’t for the life of me see how i am suppossed to be better off under this lot. I’m told the economy is the strongest going, we have massive reserves, we have no worries yet twice a year i see taxes rising out of all proportion so how come our economy is suppossed to be so strong.

Amazing when politicians are being exposed you either can’t find them or they go sick:))

    Wake up now.

My taxes this month were over £700, this will provide a TV for an impoverished MP…

Next month I should be able to furnish Rob Marris with %70 of a bed…

Hopefully by the end of the tax year I will have kitted out a reasonable front room for one of these poor, poor dears.

I’m doing my bit for parliament. Are you doing yours?

madness total madness and they wonder why we don’t trust any of them there all at it,easy money our money this should be stopped asap, and give them an extra 50,000 on there wages instead, then we’ll know were our hard earned taxses are going.

what the hell has them staying away from there families got to do with it????

this is just another example of our country going to pot.

  14. Karl said:

This country is a pathetic joke now. Everyone will moan about this, just like they moan about our poor criminal justice system. But moan is all people ever do. And moaning won’t change one damn thing.

Until people are prepared to take to the streets to make their feeling known, this country will continue to deteriorate. With MPs claiming luxury lifestyles from our hard earned taxes, criminals with more rights than their victims and mass immigration.

So you may all sit there, tapping away on your keyboards, venting your frustrations. But it won’t change one damn thing!

laura 6- what has them being away from there families got to do with the prioce of fish.

just another reason why this country is going to pot

Can’t wait for the published expenses lists. That’s going to be a laugh.

I really don’t understand why an MP can claim £10000 for a new kitchen, on expenses. Who the hell came up with this joyride?

Lets be honest, do the majority of MPs really give a rats arse about this country or just themselves?

  17. ann said:

laura 6. it is terible rip off . most of us have to work away we dont get all that expense . and most of them only go to get away from there wife and husbands anyway. they get paid enough without kitchens and hifi etc .
