Hednesford solve keeper problem

pitmen.jpgHednesford have solved their goalkeeping dilemma – while striker Reece Styche will return as Phil Starbuck’s side face two ‘cup finals’ in three days.

The Pitmen have managed to get reserve Paul Evans to cover for two of the three games that ’keeper Ben Scott is suspended for.

Evans has been starring for Causeway, but they haven’t got a game this weekend, leaving him free to play in Hednesford’s Keys Park double-header against third-placed Gateshead on Saturday and sixth-lying Guiseley on Monday.

Styche has recovered from a broken foot and Starbuck says he’ll be in the squad – despite a mere 45 minute-comeback for the reserves in midweek.

Starbuck has ordered his side to win the ‘two cup finals’ at Keys Park in the next three days if they are to have any chance of salvaging a play-off place in the Unibond premier division.

Starbuck said: “We’ve got two cup finals – it’s as simple as that and we’ll find out what my players have or haven’t got. It’s going to be blood and thunder.”

Hednesford will give Rory May (hamstring) a second fitness test tomorrowin the hope he can play. But David Brown and defender Paul Robinson are out.
