Carbon monoxide – know the risks

carbon-monoxide-symptoms.jpg

Detecting early physical symptoms could save your life. If you suffer from the following symptoms when you’re near a gas appliance, but feel better when you’re outside or in a different room, then you could be experiencing early signs of poisoning.

Typical symptoms are often likened to flu and include:

  • drowsiness
  • headaches
  • nausea
  • weakness
  • chest and stomach pains

If you suspect someone has been exposed to carbon monoxide, remove them from the area immediately. Take them into the open air so they have a fresh oxygen supply, and seek medical attention.
