Ashmore push on for title

goal.jpgOnce again a fine crowd came to see the Ashmore inn take all three point and start the final push for the league title with some nice football been played by the cheesemen.

It was not long before the home side went a head when Tony Brown went down the line and played over a wonderfully ball for Ryan to head home it was keep ball time for the Ashmore but for a team having all the play they could not get another goal with chance after chance going begging.

Then in the second half Wombourne got a goal back against the run of play that seemed to kick the home side into gear and goals from Brannon with a bullet shot made it 2-1.

Mincher soon made it 3-1 with a close range shot and with 10 mins left Mincher put Roger in for him to slot home to make it 4-1 to the Ashmore and Rogers waved to his mom who was in the Billy G stand.

After the game manager Padir Brewster said: “We played some good football at times but we should have put them to bed before half time.”

“It’s very nice to see the Ashmoreonians coming out to support their team and makes me happy just to see them smiling as we all work hard all week so its nice to have some enjoyment.”

Team Tew 7 Healy 7 Brannon 8 Rickhuss 7 Pugh 7 Mincher 8 Onions 8 Hale 8 Ryan 7 Brown 8 Rogers 4   D. Cooper 7 J. Cartwright 7 Sub not used P. Brewster .

Nice to see Ryan get on the scoresheet, but when is Padir going to make his long awaited comeback for the Ash?
