Dudley Sports 1 Wellington 1

dudley-sports-f-c.jpgDudley Sports once again threw away a great chance to go second in the table, after totally dominating the first half of this home game, they only had the one goal advantage at the interval, a lead given to them by Mitchell Lester in the 44min with a well taken goal on the run.

Second half was a scrappy affair with both teams struggling to cope with the worsening weather conditions, no team managed to string two passes together and gave the ball away cheaply, Sports never looked like going further in front nor did Wellington look as thou they would score either.

They did do in a bizarre incident involving Chris Howard and keeper Jay Trav both coming for the ball inside the six yard box, the Wellington player beat the two to the ball and lopped a header that caught in the wind and drifted over the pair and into the net.

Sports pushed forward but with there forwards not firing could not find a break thru, although they should have had a penalty when Chris Raybone was up ended inside the box, only for there to give a foul outside the area.

So with all the teams around them loosing Sports missed a great chance to climb the table, but you couldn’t fault Welington their young team battled away all afternoon for their point.
