Stafford Rangers boss Steve Bull will deliver a shape up or ship out ultimatum to his shellshocked players as they head south to play Woking tomorrow.
The former Wolves star says the players will be “playing for their shirts for next year” from now on.
Rangers suffered their worst defeat of the season so far going down 6-0 in the local derby at Kidderminster on Tuesday night, a performance branded by Bull as “an embarrassment”.
“It was a very, very bad performance, but I had my say after the game and we have to look ahead to going down to Woking and getting a result there,” said Bull.
“I have to get them motivated again. There’s some of the lads who want to play for the club and for the club to do well and I’m getting a response off them.
“I’ve said to them, they’re all playing for their shirts for next year. I”ve tried two different formations already and they couldn’t do the job.
“It’s going to be hard because the players I need to do the job are not there.
“I’m going to have to bide my time with signings, it’s going to be hard to attract players to Stafford the situation we’re in, but hopefully with my contacts I can get a few loan players in.”
Bull has also arranged a private practice game for next Tuesday night when the current first choice X1 will be pitted against a team of invited triallists.
Rangers remain 10 points adrift of the Blue Square Premier safety zone, with just 13 matches left to play and a tough fixture schedule ahead featuring top teams like Oxford, Torquay and current league hotshots Aldershot.
Rangers, though could be boosted by the return of strikers Marco Adaggio and Del Olaoye who are recovering from injury, but midfielder Matt Hazley is still struggling with an ankle problem.
Rangers (from): Alcock, Allen, Gibson, Ingram, Sangare, Daniel, Sutton, Street, Draper, Jarrett, Hopkinson, Shaw, Flynn, Arnolin, Adaggio, Grayson, Olaoye, Meakin-Richards, Reid, Hughes.

Support is all at the moment.
If anyone deserves a go, it’s Steven George Bull.
The bloke wears his heart on his sleeve, is incredibly loyal and has fantastic contacts.
I’m sure he’ll get the players he wants, and get Stafford up the leagues, just give him time…Something he wouldn’t get at Wolves!!
