PHX win as Crescents are downed

netball1.jpgWolverhampton City Netball League Division 2 side PHX were the stars of the day when they beat Crescent 1.

Both centre court line-ups were fast over the length of the court using long open passing to great effect.

Penn Outsiders’ successful run was endangered by Ladybirds with  defensive pairs of both teams producing some inspirational interceptions.

The hitherto sad showing of Sam 1 gave Static Systems something of a jolt as they laboured to confine each other to a draw.

In Division 4, and with a player down, Silk lurched into the lead after half-time, over the ever-improving young Whitmore Z side.

Here both centres – Karen Mills and Laura Knowles - contained each other in a  spirited exhibition.

Division 5 Thundercats roared to their first victory in weeks as their centre court contained opposition Zimmers and their win was topped with some fine shooting by Rhian Lindsey and Jayne Walters.
