Greenhill FC lost 2-0 away to second placed Enville Athletic on Saturday with skipper Jimmy Mattin completing his 100th appearance for the club.
The game was made difficult by a strong swirling wind and neither team created a chance of note in a tight first half.
The game did not open up after the break but Enville took the lead after 70 minutes from a curling free kick from 25 yards.
Things got worse for Greenhill with Darren Smith being dismissed after 75 minutes.
Shortly after Enville added a second goal to kill off the game.
Next Saturday Greenhill travel to Feckenham Res for the 2nd leg of the challenge vase semi-final (GFC 2-1 up from the first leg.)
