Villa target wants a move

Villa target Jose Bosingwa has issued a ‘come and get me plea’ to interested clubs.

Boss Martin O’Neill is keen to sign the Porto full-back but has been knocked back by the asking price, with reports suggesting the Portuguese champions wanted £22m.

But the 25-year-old, who has 16 months left on his contract, has offered the first hint that he might be prepared to leave.

“I’ve had some fantastic moments in these five years, but I can’t hide my desire to play abroad,” he said.

“I’m very happy here, but I’d consider leaving if an offer comes and it was good for me and FC Porto. I don’t know of any offers yet, therefore I’ll only leave if good offers arrive.”

Meanwhile, O’Neill today insisted Villa would go on all-out attack at the Emirates as Arsenal reel from Eduardo’s horrific broken leg.

Villa are the next opponents of the Premier League leaders, who are still a club in shock at the grotesque injury suffered by their Croatian striker at St Andrew’s last Saturday.

But Villa boss O’Neill is concentrating on his own team’s form and revealed they would be taking the game to Arsene Wenger’s side.

“I saw them play last weekend at Birmingham when the whole game was affected by the horrific injury,” said O’Neill.

“But they’re a very fine side. They have great attacking options. And they’re very good – that’s why they’re top of the league.

“We’re going into the game with loads of confidence. Our performance on Sunday was excellent – and we’re going to go and attack them.”

O’Neill insists he’s very pleased with Scott Carson, but insists a decision on the loan keeper’s future is out of his hands.

Carson is keen to sort out where he’ll be playing next season as he looks to settle down with partner and two-year-old son.

But O’Neill said: “There will be a number of parties concerned. All things could be thwarted if Liverpool want to bring him back.

“He’s on loan until the end of the season. Liverpool haven’t changed their stance.”

O’Neill is hopeful Olof Mellberg may return to contention after a twisted ankle.
