Flat fire victim named

fire2.jpgThe seven-year-old girl left fighting for her life following a flat fire in Wolverhampton was today named locally as Victoria Kaleta.

The youngster, believed to be Polish and a pupil at St Michaels CE Primary School in Tettenhall, remains in a serious but stable condition in Birmingham Children’s Hospital after undergoing surgery yesterday.

She suffered 80 per cent burns in the blaze at her home in The Lindens, off Newbridge Crescent, which investigators believe may have been started by an electric fire or storage heater.

Her aunt, who suffered 45 per cent burns after rescuing her niece and four-year-old brother from the blazing bedroom, remains in a serious condition.

The little girl’s mother, who is in her 20s and was not at home when the blaze took hold, has been holding vigil at her bedside since the horrific inferno.

Thousands of fantastic holidays to choose from!
