Rangers draw in Bully’s first game

New Stafford Rangers manager Steve Bull had said he wouldn’t be taking charge of the team until next week’s home game against Frickley Athletic.

But the Wolves legend couldn’t resist having his say and was quickly involved in the game shouting out orders to his players.

Bully had been forced from his seat in the stands when Halifax did most of the early attacking in what was a scrappy opening.

Stafford suffered an early setback in the 26th minute when Draper replaced the limping Hopkinson.

On a very poor playing surface which started to cut up Stafford began to restrict the home side’s chances without seriously threatening the home goal.

Buut there was plenty of nervous moments for the new manager as the home side almost scored with good chances either side of the hour mark.

But the day ended in triumph as Rangers held on for a point to ease their relegation fears.

Bully should not be too ambitious with hisa team. he should play for draws at home and away cos just because he has arrived won’t make the players much better. i bet they show greater bottle but clearly they do not have the skill so he should be cautious and pick up a point rather than gung - ho for a win which will always be unlikely.

It will be great if he gets them back up next season and I guess with the extra cash Stafford will get from wolves fans attedning home matches, he might be giveb the finance to buy good players.

Good luck Bully. make Stafford Town your own…

Well done Bully, good clean sheet to start off with. Always a positive thing, Halifax aint an easy place to go to as they’ve only lost 2 at home this season the league. Push on from here now, it can still be done with a good run and 16 games to go

Well done mate! It will just get better as you do the right things. No magic, just do the right things!

That’s all that Fergie does, and he is strong-willed enough not to allow distractions to stop him doing the right things!

    Let’s start another dream!

If his players only show 50% of the passion and hunger that Bully showed in his playing days at Wolves, then they will stay up. Good luck to Bully and Rangers…
