Well i am from Croatia, everyone here watch eduardo like he’s god becouse he just is,he’s one of the best croatian players,we all like it,i feel sorry for him and i hope that he will recover from injury as fast as he can,TAYLOR should be hanging from a tree infront of the emirates stadium

  5. lee simmonds said:

all u arsenal fans r going on like he went out and did it on perpous, it was a missed timed takle, how would you feel if one of your players made that takle on a blues player today?????

  6. Charles said:

I hope Eduardo is strong enough to recover from this.I looks very bad indeed, but D Cisse had a similar injury twice and he is still playing football. Its only in England where the skillfull players are not protected enough by referees that you can see those kind of very bad takles. it time to stop. best wishes to Eduardo. Good players are mentally strong. He will be back.

im not a arsenal fan im a barcelona fan but i wanted arsenal to win te tiltle but when i saw that tackle even though i hardly think taylor meant to break his leg i dont think eduardo will ever play again unfortunatly he might never even walk again i just hope he gets ok again

  8. jason knight said:

i agree with the last comment, yes it was a bad tackle but it was miss timed, it was not two footed, just late. its one of those unfortunate things that happen when you play a physical sport. to say he should be swinging from a tree, well thats just stupid and pretty uneducated, same as calling him a murdereer. by all accouts taylor is pretty distraught about it. eduardo did him for pace, if you catch someone in a week area of the leg then things like that can happen. he never went out with the intention to hurt a player…anyway arsenal fans think before you speak otherwise you just make yourself look stupid

  9. sutton said:

Lee, an Arsenal player, indeed, any player worth his weight, would never tackle in such a terrible, uncontrolled, dangerous way. Taylor clearly hasnt bothered to learn the basics of modern football and relies on brute force and agression. He should be banned for life.

I want to know how everyone knows it was intentional - Sky didn’t let us see a replay. Still photos look horrendous but can anyone honestly say they first thought it was deliberate? To say Taylor should be “hanging from a tree” is sickening. We should just be hoping for a speedy recovery for Eduardo.

  13. wolvessince66 said:

I am a Wolves supporter and old no sympathy for Birmingham. However I disagree totally what has been said about Taylor. Mis-timed yes but noy malicious. I think 4 ScoRpio should think about what he says, it’s almost racism and very inciting.

  14. Geoff said:

Eduardo was just too quick for Taylor on this occasion. He is not a malicious player and would not have gone out with the intention to break someones leg. It was unfortunate but just one of those things that happens now and then in professional football.
I believe in Wenger’s reign at Arsenal there have been something like 70 odd sendings off. Admittedly none of them resulted in a broken leg but people in glasshouses shouldn’t throw stones. Sad I know but to call for a life ban is a bit over the top and I want to believe AW said it on the spur of the moment while still in shock. I hope so anyway.
Remember David Busst ? Did the other player involved get as much stick ? Can’t even remember his name but I don’t think so.

I feel really bad being an Arsenal fan and well Croatia mite be affected in a big way with that. Hope fully he comes back as soon as possible.
I wont say that Taylor shud b hanged 4 that. Im sure he hasent done it on purpose. Just a vry bad day for Gunners.

  16. Vinafc said:

“Martin Taylor looks remorseful” Taylor has the look of a man that’s satisfied with a job well done, more like. I’ll be interested to follow Taylor’s career from now on. There’s some negative karma coming his way, be it on or off the pitch.

  17. rob arnold said:

can i just say that not ALL arsenal fans think he did it on purpose it was unlucky just like the penalty at the end thats football im more peed off with the way arsenal blew it they should be ashamed of the way they played towards the end and fair play to gallas for showing that he wants this team to win and is angry and upset when we dont he is a great captain

  18. Andrew Shipway said:

I havn’t heard anyone say this yet, but what I was thinking is that Taylor should be banned for the period of time that Eduardo has to sit out for and then at the end of that ban add another 3 match ban on the end. This should be applied for all horrendous tackles similar to this. Then maybe it would bring in more protection for the better players and other players would be more careful and less reckless. Being a Liverpool fan I’d hate to see, after spending 20 million, a player like Fernando Torres out of a career because of a tackle similar to Taylor’s. It would ruin the game if player’s got away with things like this with just a 3 match ban. I love watching players like Ronaldo Gerrard Rooney Torres Drogba and all other world class players, it would be a shame for this to get out of hand.

Hope you like my idea! :D

The problem is gunners are a group of ethical footballers…we tackle for ball not legs…for god sake! Football is never the same again, to bring down gunners , the only way is to kill their legs…Thats fucking unfair!!

    Gunner for Life

  21. Adam Lim said:

Martin Taylor…Gunners will hate you for life!!

  22. Karen Lockett said:

Taylor went in for a tackle like players should. There was no intent to injure Eduardo he was doing his job of trying to get the ball. He was unlucky. Arsenal make tackles like that all the time. Thats arsenal though isnt it, they can do and say what they want and its fine!!!!

that is disgusting I am an arsenal fan and hope he will play again.Taylor didnt mean it it was a mistimed tackle

  29. Jdl said:

When you look at the tackle it looks horrific but taylor is not known for bad tackles and it was a freak accident it cud of happened to anyone but unfornately it happened to eduardo. Hope he plays again!!

  30. Jeyc said:

OMGG …. the pictures show it is worst to fear !! Eduardo maybe ending his career as David Busst. His foot palm is seperated from his leg !! What will Martin Taylor can do and feeling sory if Eduardo’s leg get amputated ??

  31. Jeyc said:

lee simmonds, u should review the pictures taken … is showing Taylor purposely do the tackle coz he still stepping his fractured ankle before down for that tackle !

  32. Tom Essex said:

Why can’t people just watch the footage and judge the incident on the tackle, rather than the injury Eduardo sustained? Taylor was committed to the challenge and was simply beaten by Eduardo’s quick thinking, and whilst the injury looked horrific it was no more than an accident.

Dear old Arsene Wenger doesn’t help the public perception of the game when he claims teams need ‘to kick Arsenal to beat Arsenal’, and that something like this was ‘waiting to happen’. It’s complete and nonsense, esepcially when everyone knows that you only need man-mark Arsenal to stop them playing.

Ridiculous reactions to an unfortunate tackle, with absolutely no malice in it whatsoever. And Arsenal, clean tacklers? Do me a favour.

Says it all about Man U fans dont it

As for the “tackle” i am a Arsenal season ticket holder, Now for me the million dollar question is: did he mean to break his leg? I dont think so, was done to slow the player up, was a nasty late tackle from a 2bob average player

  34. Milos said:

First of all, football will miss you, Eduardo, for your time out and we as fans hope that you get well soon. For those bitter fans out there that want to ban Taylor for life, get over yourselves, it was a pure accident, they were running full speed and if you’ve ever played football in your life you know that accidents like this happen its just the degree that varies. You could tell that Taylor felt terrible and in fack shocked and there is no way that he wanted to hurt Eduardo! My heart goes out to Eduardo, his friends, family, and teammates, come back quick!
Man U fan 4ever!!!!!!!!WE WILL WIN AGAIN!!!!

It is such a great shame that a ‘freak’ accident can cause so much hatred topic of conversation.
‘Hang him from a tree’, ‘Ban him from life’, ‘T kick Arsenal to beat Arsenal’.
It was an unfortunate tackle which has left two players physically and nentally scarred. It was an accident as is any accident that happens in life. Arsen Wengers comments afterwards combined with Arsenals captains behaviour on the pitch go to prove what a undiciplined lot Arsenal really are! Wenger should lead by Example and outbursts (which with him appear common) only to be retracted are the example which his team have to emulate
Bottom line is, Frak accident, get of Taylors case, I do hope Eduardo will play at the highest level again, God’s speed.

  37. goonergirl said:

Darren-LA… you watch your team-mate go through that and then remain disciplined. Wenger’s and gallas’s reaction were completely understandable given the emotion of the day.
And I’m afraid I can’t agree that it was a freak accident. Something like this was always going to happen given people’s complete inability to tackle safely.ow is going over the top of the ball with studs sowing an accident?

I do feel sorry for taylor and I’m fully aware that he did not mean to hurt Edu at all, but the fact remains that he did, whether through mistiming or intention to stop the player (note that i don’t say with any malice there, because I don’t believe he did it maliciously)He will get a 3 match ban, whilst Arsenal have lost a striker, and Eduardo might never play again. hardly air, really, is it? Now do you understand a little bit about why they reacted the way they did?
Sow some compassion. They are humans, not rbots.

  39. phil said:

anyone who thinks taylor should be banned for life is just a complete idoit, after all if i remeber rightly , last week Eboue went jumping into the air with his foot up showing studs, much worse than taylors tackle. it was just late and unlucky, if you see the reaction of any of the players and sky they were shocked by the red, although on replay it did seem to be worth a red, nothing more! 3 match ban, anything more is ridiculous

i really wanted to cry the first time i saw the pictures.
i dont know whether it was delibrate or not but it was an uncontrolled tackle.
it was one of the worst days for arsenal fans.
by the way we could give eduardo agood gift if gael was a little more carefull.

me and my mate are reading these comments and finding some of them completly outragous! complete and utter accident on taylor’s behalf
” after seeing what happened he felt like stop playing” quote from paper. so for some of you to say it was malicious and intended it think not if it was taylor wouldnt of visited edu in hospital that day! people like you ruin the true sport of football< you should never wish an injury on somebody!
