Wolves winger Michael Kightly hopes to be back in action within a fortnight.
The England under-21 man should be back in light training on Monday after reporting no pain in the ankle for the past week.
And while Kightly is keen to adopt a ‘safety first’ attitude after a couple of aborted comeback attempts, he believes a return in two weeks is realistic.
“The new physio (Steve Kemp) has done some really good hands on work and I can feel the difference already,” he said.
“I have been doing plenty of work on it and increasing the strength of the muscles around it, which should allow me to return next week.”

Good news - like the sound of the new physio - perhaps if we give him a spanner he can fix the undersoil heating as well
Thank God! Some good news for once! Just hoping and praying the ankle doesn’t mess up again; we need you Kites! Let’s all get back on track and get behind the boys 2moro at Selhurst Park. Come on Wanderers, Keep the faith.
Out of Darkness cometh light.
Hooray!
Some good news for a change.
More good news!
Free ticket available for tomorrow’s game in exchange for a lift from Tunbridge Wells.
Failing this, I’m catching the train!
Se you @ Selhurst!
UP THE WOLVES!
Now Nathan if you’d of left your blog for a few more hours, you could of added a positive mate.
Bloomin hindsight hey!!!!
Great. However, lets not rush Kites back into the team until his properly fit. Playing him against Cambridge was a huge mistake.
Lets see if Mick doesn’t throw him back to early during a desperate match and get him injured again.
Wolfski:
Playing him against Cambridge was a huge mistake…
HE GOT INJURED THE NEXT DAY IN TRAINING!
Kent Wolf
I know he got injured in training but I think he was rushed back before he was really ready.
I think we can all agree that he has been badly missed.
I think Kight’s rushed himself back before he was ready.
Mick’s got a lot wrong this season but when Kight’s is all over the press saying he’s fit and the physio and medics agree then you can’t blame the manager for giving him a chance off the bench.
Hopefully the new physio will not let Kightly’s enthusiasm fool him into letting him back too soon. I’m sure Kightly will say anything to get on the pitch but with an injury of this sort where there is nothing that can be seen by scans, the player is usually the best judge of when they are ready to return. I think this time the physio is going to have to hold him back in treatment for a little while longer.
I admire the kids enthusiasm but it could work against him again if he doesn’t rein it in!
Kent Wolf…..
I live in Bexley, used to live in Cowden, I would have picked you up and taken your kind offer. Sadly (well not so sad) I have my kids this weekend, the Evil Ex is off to New York with her fat ugly new boyfriend!! Next time mate just hollar!!!

Wolfski - you’re just wrong. You can’t blame McCarthy for everything. Sometime people just get injured!

You are right! Negative Nancy hit the nail on the head. I need be more positive and understand that Mike McCarthy (her spelling not mine) can still wave his wand and get this club where it needs to be.
Tuesday’s Blog after we thump Palace 3-0 will be the most positive of 2008, you mark my words!
great news, we are a one man team and we dont care!
So two weeks until we win our next game then!!!
Great News! Him on one wing, Jarvis on the other. You can almost see the panic on full-backs faces.
BTW, on a different note, has anybody noticed the absence of ‘Happie_Baggie’?
No chance. He will break down again. He needs an op and should get it done now, so that he is fully fit for the pre-season.
Besides our two goalies, the only one in the team who is of Premiership Standard.
Does this mean anything to anybody other than me?
He needs an op to shave some bone off at some point in his career, this should really be done sooner rather than later for the following reasons:
If he aggravates it again he could be out for much more longer
If he does make it worse and is out longer then he won’t be much use to us
If this happens we will struggle to sell a player that hardly plays for us
Now if he had his op now he would be raring to go for it next season, lets face it this season is a foregone conclusion now we are so far behind the play-offs
If he has his op now and a Prem club come in with £8m or more then we could at least take that as consolation for losing him
I think this club is desperately trying to get something out of this season at Michael’s expense and this is really sad for the kid
Hope I’m wrong but this is the way this sort injury works out normally
Kent Wolf - He felt sore after Cambridge and then got injured in training after the Watford game in the cup - fact
Michael should write this season off and get healthy so next season he can be useful for us. Maybe he’ll have a team to play with.

On a sad note, the game I’ve been looking forward to with some anticipation for ages vs Crystal Palace will be missing at least one desperate fan….ME!
My kids were supposed to be coming down here for the weekend & we were going to catch the train to Norwood Junction. The kids couldn’t make it, I can’t walk to the station from here, though my neighbour kindly offered to take me & would collect me, but I’ve had a bad night. The doctor had to come out to administer morphine & I need to go on my nebuliser for my asthma.
It never rains, but it pours.
10 Funkster London:Thanks, your the only one!
