Wolves’ own charity will be getting a £150,000 a year boost - after the club’s generous owner Steve Morgan dipped his hand further into his pocket.
The multi-millionaire merged his own good cause The Morgan Foundation with Wolves Aid at an event at Molineux.
It will mean the Wolverhampton charity’s coffers will swell to around £500,000, making it one of the biggest organisations of its kind in the country, after Mr Morgan pledged a £150,000 annual grant.
The move will make Wolves Aid one of the biggest football club charities of its type in the UK.
Former Redrow boss Morgan said: “I set up the Morgan Foundation in 2000 after reflecting on my career.
“I had been very lucky and successful. Although I had given to charities over the years I felt I could and should be doing more.
“From today £150,000 of Morgan Foundation money will be put into Wolves Aid.
“I am very excited about it because Wolverhampton is a one-club city - everybody supports Wolves.”
To mark the relaunch, Morgan presented a new minibus to Wolves in the Community and a special £3,000 trike to 13-year-old Oliver Franks, of Telford, who suffers from a condition affecting his bones.

Nice one SM, a very good cause. Now lets get behind the lads and get out of this mess. This season might well be lost but lets get the spirit of last season back for the remaining games. The more we moan the worse it will get with more errors all over the park so lets call a truce and move on or we will never get anywhere.
