Albion midfielder James Morrison has told prospective Baggies new-boy Luke Moore he is making the right move by dropping out of the Premier League.
Morrison is ready to welcome his former England youth team mate to The Hawthorns when he completes his move from Villa.
And, having made a similar decision himself when he moved from Middlesbrough, the midfielder believes Moore can discover a new lease of life at Albion.
“I think he’s seen the quality of our team and displays,” said Morrison.
“Like myself, he can come here and enjoy his football and maybe get back into the big league.
“I think there is a little bit of difference of quality in terms of opposition in this league.
“You get more time in the Premier League but I’m glad I made the choice because I’m enjoying my football and I’m sure Luke will too.
“I’ve played with him a few times at England youth level and we got on well.
“He showed quality stuff then and I’m sure he will help the team. He’s fast, good on the ball and different to Roman Bednar and other strikers.”
And the Baggies midfielder has extra incentive to show his best form after learning that Scotland assistant manager Terry Butcher has watched him in action.
He has declared his allegiance to Scotland and new manager George Burley has already sounded out Albion manager Tony Mowbray about Morrison’s form.
“Terry Butcher watched me against Sheffield United,” said Morrison.
“I need to concentrate on form. I had a chance to play for England under-21s but I went for Scotland as there are more opportunities.”
I’m just waiting for my chance.”
