Luke Moore should complete his loan to Albion tomorrow - as Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill revealed the striker wanted to quit the Premier League club.
Moore had his medical at The Hawthorns yesterday ahead of his loan with a view to a £3.5m permanent move.
The deal will go ahead on Friday when the 93-day rule means the striker will be available should Albion be in the Championship play-off final.
“Luke wants to go – he’s pretty anxious to go,” said O’Neill.
“It will be a chance for him. I’m loathe to let people go who have definitely got talent. Luke’s definitely got talent.
“But there’s more to being a real quality centre forward than having talent. It’s your overall contribution.”
O’Neill has allowed Moore to go partly because of the emerging youth team, particularly Nathan Delfouneso, who recently signed a three-year contract.
“I look at the youth team to see if there are people coming through and there’s some excitement in that side,” said O’Neill.

When the ball hits the goal it’s not Shearer or Cole it is Luke Moore
It’s not Villa or Blues or that ginger “bleep” Hughes it is Luke Moore
We had Kyle we missed out on but thats no disaster we got Luke Moore.
How great is it that a talent like Luke Moore is “anxious” to come to the baggies… what a great job the staff have done in getting him in and this is another reward for our attacking style of play - good players want to join us !
As for his overall contribution thing - If Luke scores 15 goals next season and keeps us in the prem that will do for me - i don’t care if he don’t put a shift in as long as he scores plenty. MON has to have a crack at him as he leaves though otherwise he loses face, but I think there is alot more to his game than MON makes out.
It feels like dreamland and christmas all rolled into one these days.
Welcome to the ToMo blue and white diamonds !
He will do well for the baggies, and is a good player. I will say last year when we played our 4 3 3 formation he looked very good, this season he seems to have sulked a lot and not diggin his heals in and working for the team. Good luck to the lad, but I think after what I have seen of him this season it is best he moves on.
Brilliant signing, and as he is cup tied he will keep the other strikers on their toes for the league games. Will give us fantastic options on the bench for when the games come twice a week.
Great signing for you.
I cant believe we go for players like kyle when you go talent like Moore.
I cant wait next month when we play you, your going to p#@s all over us.
5. You took the words right out of my mouth. Can’t imagine a player of that calibre being anxious to play for Mick! Much as I hate the Baggies, this signing shows their ambition and quality of football they are playing.
It’s refreshing to hear that Luke Moore wanted to join us, as opposed to being pushed into a move he didn’t really want.
If Martin O’Neill says Luke has got talent, then he must be right, coz he know’s his stuff.
Boing Boing
Fantastic deal, we have the option of using him in the play off’s, having said that we shouldn’t need that route with the squad we have assembled. boing boing all the way back.
This deal has been done a long time ago just the 93 day deal holding things up. But as he is a prem player will score the goals will not need the play-off final this time.
Just two trips to wembley this year in the FA cup Moore cup tired so he can have a rest on cup final day.
Now baggies lets bring in a prem centre half to tighten things up that end.
Boing Boing baggies baggies prem hear we come.
Luke Moore.
Hmmmnnn, He’s got the talent there’s no question about that, But his attitude is all wrong, Villa fans who watch him closely will notice that his body language smacks of Lazyness. He’ll do well at the Albion for a month or two then he’ll lose interest. It’s a shame when a player goes through the motions without tapping into their own true potential.
Steve
villa cant have much coming through the ranks at centre back then!

Please visit the Beeb 606 forum, and read the post in the Albion section titled “Luke Moore’s song”.
Now i find your reply in a thread earlier slanderous lol
My work is being stolen, who is this alias of Albion_til_i_die, please show yourself on here.
Now i’m miffed, i did not slap a copyright on my work.
Sorry Tony, as i said on the Beeb site, i said i got it from here =)
(as posted on 606 by myself)
I was only kidding mate
But song creator for me, I don’t think so
I do have a claim to fame on a song
1 windy day at Swindon, I went on the train got very drunk and at half time i lay across a number of seats. A few fans were doing the tune to this certain song, and within my drunken ramblings i started shouting “Slap a Dingle” to it. I then when at the following Home game, was at the back of the Smethwick end, and the tune started going again, so i encouraged my mates to join in with “Slap a Dingle”
So that one is my tune and it still goes now.
TONYWBA,,nice one mate keep them songs coming we might need um this year with all the trips to wembley,,welcome aboard young luke heres to plenty of goals for us baggies,,its a great time to be a baggie,,,DOING THE DOUBLE THE MOWBRAY WAY,,,,IN STYLE.
You don’t know how lucky you are being able to sign players like Moore and enjoying attacking football. Here’s to you probably humiliating us soon
For heavens sake…. Why do you lot need another striker???
Is your master plan to sign all the young goal getters so as to stop anyone else getting them?????
You are SO GREEDY…
Is this a make weight in the Curtis Davies Deal?
Perhaps Villa don’t want to pay 10 million for him but 6 million and 2nd rate lazy striker Moore sounds like good business by Villa.
I’m sure Ishamel Miller and Bednar will be chuffed to bits– Both will not be signed now to warm the subs bench!
18: Not quite sure which team you support from your post, but for your information Ishmael Miller has already signed for £900′000 and is now exclusiveley a West Brom player.
Roman Bednar has a guarenteed fee set up, if but more likely WHEN Tony Mowbray decides to sign him.
Is it wrong of Tony Mowbray to give himself as many options as possible, I don’t think so and any bit of talent he can spot are definetly welcome up the Hawthorns in my opinion.
dapster50, he’s on loan mate, if he don’t perform we can send him back!
18 - you just come across as a sad, crying wolves fan… never mind that you have 7 strikers in YOUR squad - never mind that you played 4 of them for the 2nd half against cardiff and STILL couldn’t score…. lets just laugh at the highest scorers in the country for having so many great strikers.
How foolish we must look to you… how excited you must be when Kyle and Elliot come trotting out the tunnel on a saturday…
Oh and well done for getting ALL your facts wrong - what a fan you are !!
